911 Porsche 911 Sport Classic

The Porsche 911 model series (pronounced Nine Eleven or in German: Neunelf) is a family of German two-door, high performance rear-engine sports cars, introduced in September 1964 by Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany.
I think it was a called for question, since you implied that one must be a blinded Porsche fan to like this car. :D

Thanks for the answer, I don't agree with all of it, but then again, that was personal views.

The reason I said that I wasn't a 911 fanboy is because many people just claim the latest 911 is the greatest, no matter what. I call out things as I see em. ;)

And you don't have to agree with my answer, yet we still get along. Unlike some other folks...:D

The Sport Classic costs 10,000 Euro more than a GT2 in Germany :t-banghea:t-banghea:t-banghea It wins the questionable price of being the most expensive 911 in the line-up!

You'll care when I drive next to you in my PDK Mark II Turbo Cabrio, you'll care :D
Red light.....green light...gone is the Turbo, never to be seen again, for 50k LESS :bonk:

As much as I love the 911, this is utter rubbish. More expensive than a GT2, for a new ducktail, ugly taillamps, and (very nice) Fuchs-inspired wheels? They got to be kidding.

This is rediculous. Non-sense. Even if it is a limited edition, nothing justifies this price (well, the gigantic debts of Porsche SA maybe, but that's all).

I don't find it that good looking, and wouyld prefer a standard Carrera S over it: the changes are nice but not thaty good adapted to the car, especially the front lip and taillamps.

Love the wheels and exhaust, can live without the rest, laugh about the price. And it doesn't even get Carrera stripes on the side in a special color matched by the wheels...

Not impressed at all. Well, I will be impressed if some actually buy it!

I don't care much for speed, how it looks Is what I am interested in..
and we all know special design cost money.. alot of money

It's very pretty, but for that money? You can buy a regular Carrera S with the optional sport exhaust, and probably even sound better :D

Saves you a lot of $$$, the wheels of the SP I don't even like. Porsche makes 10 times prettier rims (like the new 911 Turbo rims, omg). The regular sport exhaust looks absolutely sick IRL :usa7uh:

^ Ya think, Dasilva?:D

The thing is... for a Lambo, it is how it looks that matters most. So, smthg like the Reventon makes total sense.
However, in the case of a 911, what matters is how it goes and feels. Form following function, performance-driven tweaks from generation to generation.

But this is the complete contrary, it is only show, and utterly expensive. This is for me what a 911 should not be. This looks like gratuitous tuning, and I'm sure you can get more for less by going to Ruf, Techart, Rinspeed and co.

A 911 is no Lambo. It is driven by technical principles, not by the sake of adding a newer wing just to look different or new or interesting.

I agree with you klier, I'd buy a regular S any time over it, and the sport exhaust indeed looks even more splendid, so...

It's stunning no doubt. I too think it's the prettiest 911 at the moment (Mark II GT2 will change that!), but only a fool will buy it for this kind of money. A very rich fool. It's nothing more than a slightly souped up Carrera S.

Aha, I see. People are different
Now I understand you guys :usa7uh: thanks for the update.

Hmm.. that could have been me,
I am a fool, not rich but I wish I was:D ^^ hehe

Yawn! Is this because Porsche's upto its eyeballs in debt that they are so obviously milking the 911 for all it is worth? :(

I agree, I think it's very pretty indeed. I have only one complaint and that's the wheels. I'd prefer to see a colour-coded spoke insert in the classic SC idiom. A nice, stripe-matching satin silver would look better imo.

Great news! I was talking to the boy friend of my mother in law last Christmas eve and I told him that the 911 sport classic was sold out in just 5 minutes. I had told him about the car as soon as I knew it would come out as he is a big Porsche fan. Very big schock was he replied he had bought one of the 250 cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The beast will be delivered in week 18 and I will make sure there will be pics that's a promise !! :t-cheers:
There are only 4 cars sold here in Belgium so my Christmas was already very good!
