Honestly, if it takes wacky colors for the lambo to get recognized more than the SL65BS than AMG have done their job. I know you like lambo so I'll let it slide, but anyone with eyesight WILL notice the SL65BS.

Have you seen the fenders? The damn flares are wider than a fist. Only the truly blind and naive will not be able to tell the difference. I mean c'mon man. Most of us on here have seen every car ever designed and most of ours jaws dropped when the SL65BS first pics came out. So if it's such a stunning car to enthusiasts, believe me that the car will be noticed by the general public. Everyone can see the lambo, but it's not all that different from the Superleggerra but the SL65BS is WAY different to the normal SL.

but the superleggera, or any Gallardo is far less common than an SL, or even an SL63 or 65 and far more exotic.

they WILL notice the SL65BS, but the only thing that will get noticed more than a lambo, is another lambo :usa7uh: lol j/k. the reason the lambo will get noticed more though, is because of its shape. it just doesnt look like a CAR. intakes at the front, the shape, the slope of the windshield, and how low the car rides will set it apart far more.

watch the fifth gear test where they did a SLR vs CGT vs LP640.certainly not the most scientific thing in the world, but if an SLR (which CAN NOT be mistaken for any other merc) cant get as much attention as an LP640 (again due to the overall shape, shape of the headlights and intakes, the slope of the windshield, exhaust style etc. keep in mind the LP640 was in GREY) then an SL65BS isnt gonna draw a great of a crowd as any lambo.

Im willing to bet money that if the Fifth Gear test was done again, with the SL65BS and LP560, the LP560 would win by a landslide.

most people dont know the difference between an SL550, SL63 65 etc, and an SL65BS will to most people, be an SL with a body kit out of Need for Speed. whereas even if the LP560 looks like a 2004 Gallardo, is still VERY exotic. dont get me wrong, Im loving the SL65BS right now and Ill be the first to tell you that the SL65BS will probably be much faster in a straight line than an LP560. thats said, Lamborghini are DESIGNED to turn heads. a simple body kit will not be able to peform the same function to a degree that designing the car from the ground up can.

While LP560 is a beautiful car, the BS is a monster and definitely the car of the moment at least as far as looks go. But a better measure will be when the tests are out - especially if the BS can really hang with the other track specials like GT2, Scuderia, the V spec and ZR1.

they may have taken 500 lbs off of it, but its still 1000 lbs more than a Scuderia. its really gonna depend on the track.

i saw the ZR1 at in n out and I didn't really know what it was... i thought it was something special but i couldn't really tell... I figured it was one step above the Z06 so its kind of a sleeper compared to the others.

I like the SL and i've always like the black series, but in this comp i went with the lambo.. I have a soft spot for lambos.

Some of the stuff you said right there is so wrong that I won't bother replying since I already know you're going to disagree. All I'll say is that you might want to read over the press release for the SL65BS and the philosophy behind why the BS badge was made before you start telling me what a Lambo is.

As for your "scuderia" comment...like I said, read over the press release and google why BS was made. Then you might understand why I said that the stuff you're saying is way off.

I for one don't expect the SL65 BS to keep up with any of the cars mentioned here, ZR-1, Scuderia, LP560, Z06, GTR, GT2 or any track-day special....at the track. The SL is just too heavy, even in "lightweight" Black Series trim. To get a heavy car like the SL BS to hurl itself (and its V12) around a track with these much lighter cars would take a miracle. It will get close because of the sheer speed it is likely to attain between corners, but ultimately I bet it will still be more of a GT than a track day car like the CLK BS. It might surprise us, but I can't see it. An SL63 BS with 580hp naturally aspirated HP and the new MCT gearbox is the car Mercedes should have built. It would have set new records for a production Mercedes-Benz on a racetrack. That said I still love this SL65 version, can't wait to see one in person. The real track-star is going to be the AMG/HWA built SLC.

As much as I wanted to vote for the Mercedes I couldn't because, for the money, that darn ZR-1 is absolutely phenomenal. Of course, if you'd chucked a 997 GT2 in the mix my choice would've been easy.

But in this company (the LP560 seems too dinky to be a logical comparitor here) it's the 6 speed manual master blaster ZR-1 that wins my vote. If only they made limited numbers in RHD. A thousand British, Australian and South African fanatics would have their deposits down in a day. I guarantee it.

Sure, the Lambo and SL 65 BS are far, far more exotic, but there's something equally appealing about having a car at a third of the price that's ultimately better to drive - it's a fairly logical choice.

While I love the way the BS looks, I think it is ridiculous that you have to read a press release to understand why your $320,000 car was made in the first place.

^ Can someone kindly post why the SL 65 BS was made coz i'm lazy to read all the press release:eusa_doh::D

Honestly, the people who are going to buy this car already know why it's made. Actually the people are going to buy this car ARE the reason why it's made.

Alright....let me summarize it for everyone WHY MB-AMG decided to build the whole Black Series line-up in the first place: The reason they made the Black series is because *some* customers wanted and even more exclusive and bonkers versions of the already crazy AMG line-up. So in order to please them, and because MB knows they'll sell EVERY last one of them, MB-AMG decided to build a more than usually sporty/semi track-able yet still offering what MB is known for, *cough* Comfort *cough*. So no deleting of the AC and no getting rid of other creature comforts like radio, etc.

Like I said...if you're one of the few lucky owners of this car...well it's because of you the car was actually made. So anyone who is going to buy this car is buying it for the exact same reason AMG built it for.

Does that help? :t-cheers:

There are lot of posers in the world.
Not everyone is going to buy this ,know everything about the car. People with lots of money will buy this becuase the can, not nessecary becuase they no what it is. Oh and dont forget the badge wh***.

My vote?

I pick SL65 BS becuase its going to be rare, exclusive and the powerful engine.

I pick LP560 becuase its a beautiful car, probably handle better than SL65 BS as well

I pick ZR1 beacuse I cant afford the two others. I pick ZR1 becuase it can keep up with LP560 and SL65 BS on a track and in a straightline race.

So I guess it is for hardcore MB fans with deep pockets.

the ZR1 is faster to 100 but the SL65 catches up to 200 so i bet the SL will smoke the vette to 300:D

Primarily of course,MB just don't build those cars without feedback from exclusive owners and there is plenty of them out there.
