With the rising interest and availability of EV's, I thought it might be interesting to get an idea of what the adoption of EV's versus Hybrids and Internal combustion engines is amongst forum users.

Please keep it to what you have currently (not your intention, or just your support of one option over the other), the poll will remain open, and users can change their votes, so if you're planning to change in the near future you can change your vote as and and when appropriate.

I'll kick off the the voting with admission that I'm currently in between cars. The 1-er's been off the road since last year and with lockdown continuing I have no need to travel further than a couple of miles... so I'm just using my bicycle.

Ah yes that famous BMW reliability... Making you ride your bicycle and annoy the hell out of other motorists since 1945.

It's done pretty well to be fair, half the stuff it needs to get running and legal again are standard wear and tear parts, but... In 2018 it got battered by hailstones that left it with 30+ dents in varyingly tricky places to repair so the insurance claim would probably have been more than the value of the car.

Being honest, there's no value in it anyway, so the amount I'm prepared to sink into it, is pretty much zero. The biggest gripe I'd have with the BMW workmanship, is in the alloy wheels. The finish is literally falling off them, and I'm guessing that's the reason why both left wheels persistently loose any useful pressure after 7-10 days, there's no good seal - this has had the knock on effect of giving me sh!te tyre wear on both wheels to the extent I'd scrubbed the text off the sidewalls in less than a couple of thousand miles... twice.

It's 15 years old, it cost bugger all when I bought it off a fella with a hook for a hand and an eye patch, and I've spent virtually nothing on servicing or maintenance... I'm not going to grumble, it's been a good car (tiny boot aside), I'd get another but I want something with a different E number (though an E81 130i wouldn't be off the shortlist!)

edit:

Bruh, I'm not 76.

Still ICE as well. But in some 2-3 years time, circumstances permitting, I'll probably take the jump and choose a BEV.
