2007 Peugeot 4007 SUV

Although in the day's of photoshop no one can be 100% sure, these two pictures of Peugeot's upcoming 4007 SUV seem mighty official to me. If you're wondering what this vehicle reminds you of, take a look at the 2007 Outlander as the Peugeot 4007 is based on Mitsubishi's mid-sized SUV.

The two companies (PSA Peugeot-Citroen & Mitsubishi) had signed a cooperation of agreement to build three SUV's last year-the third one will be badged as a Citroen C7. The agreement plans the annual production in Japan of 30,000 units for PSA Peugeot Citroen's needs with the French group giving Mitsubishi their excellent diesel line-up.

The only suspicious thing about the pics is the fact that, according to PSA's preliminary press release in 2005, the models of all three brands Peugeot, Citroen and Mitsubishi (European version) would be unveiled at the 2007 Geneva Auto Show, so it's a tad strange that the 4007 pics came out so early.

Note that I actually used to like Peugeot. My family used to have a 406 SW, which was a good looking car and pretty comfortable and stuff.
The 207 is a cool car, but the whole modern Peugeot line-up is just horrible these days imo.

LOL -- that is criminal ....with plenty of mutilated Mercedes design cues -- twisted and disfigured into something so disturbingly grotesque. Nothing like this even haunts the darkest recesses of Chris Bangle's nightmares.

NOOO, i used to like french cars. Now *** is this???

Guys you have to know that this a simple rebadging of the mitsu outlander, there will be also a citroen version.

Call me crazy, but if I was to consider - for some twisted reason, as I'm not a fan of pseudo-offroaders - getting a vehicle of this class, this Peugeot bastard would be right up at the top of my list. Probably. And that's because I find the competition extremely boring.

I'll have a difficult time choosing between them. But I think the Citroen version is the most appealing. Still, I don't like this chassis sharing thing... It definitely doesn't feel special at all.

frankenstein is the 1st word that came to mind when i saw this Peugeot 4007. It is a mismatch of design and car parts. Horrible

Peugeot

Peugeot is a French brand of automobiles owned by Stellantis. Founded in 1810, Peugeot is regarded as the oldest car company in the world. On 20 November 1858, Émile Peugeot applied for the lion trademark. Armand Peugeot (1849-1915) built the company's first car steam tricycle. They joined forces with Léon Serpollet in 1886; this was followed in 1890 by an internal combustion car with a Panhard-Daimler engine.
