Paris Hilton

Re: Paris Hilton back to the jail

I also hope that the true conditions behind her "illness" are revealed. It's one thing to say "she's been released as a normal part of relieving overcrowding in our LA jails," it's another thing entirely to say "She's being released because she has an undisclosed illness." That just smacks of strings being pulled.

I've heard she was diagnosed with spoiledits, immatureits, childishitis & stupiditis ... all parts of Spoiled Bitch Syndrome.

Re: Paris Hilton back to the jail

So long as Paris comes out of this looking like a moron, and not a gal who "fought the law and won" I'm perfectly happy.

Uh oh! That's just how she might come up looking like. She dropped her appeal of the jail sentence. Translation: she's a martyr!

Have you had enough yet? :D

Jailed Paris Hilton claims 'dumb act is over'

Paris Hilton says she has learned that acting dumb is “no longer cute” and claims she is a reformed character after being sent back to jail.

Hilton: 'I'm not the same person'The US socialite and heiress to the Hilton family fortune was taken back to prison screaming and in floods of tears last week after she was released only three days into a sentence for drinking driving.

Hilton had been told she could serve the remainder of her 45-day jail term at home wearing a tag. But after reports emerged that she was planning a party to celebrate her homecoming Supreme Court Judge Michael Sauer ordered her to appear in court.

After waiting two hours for Hilton he said she should be remanded for the rest of her sentence.

In a phone call to ABC News the 26-year-old, who was dragged from court screaming "It's not fair, It's not right" following the judge’s ruling, said: "I'm not the same person I was. I used to act dumb. It was an act. I am 26 years old, and that act is no longer

"Now, I would like to make a difference. God has given me this new chance."
Seen by many as a spoilt rich kid, Hilton claimed she had been deeply affected by her time in jail. She claimed she had told her lawyers not to appeal against her return to prison and described her sentence as "by far the hardest thing I have ever done".

"I was not eating or sleeping. I was severely depressed and felt as if I was in a cage," she said. "It was a horrible experience."

Hilton, who must wear a jump-suit behind bars and is not allowed make-up, reportedly told ABC she would like to help in the fields of breast cancer or multiple sclerosis when she gets out.

She also said she thought she might get toy companies to build a "Paris Hilton playhouse", where sick children might come, and the toy companies could donate toys.

She said a "spiritual adviser" told her that her spirit or soul did not like the way she was being seen, and that is why she was sent to jail.
"I'm not that superficial girl,” she said. “I haven't looked in the mirror since I got here."

Telegraph.

I never knew you were this creative Eni...:eusa_clap

I can't believe Paris is 26..I always thought she was 20 or 21. I suppose that's because I didn't expect someone of that age to act like such an awful delinquent.

She can't convince the world simply by saying so, it will take years of dedication. Will be interesting to see how she handles that.

I guarantee her new "i'm not dumb anymore" act ain't gonna last long. I'll give it 3-4 months tops before you see her in the tabloids again piss drunk on the sidewalk talking isht on Hollywood blvd. :D

This brought a tear to my eye .................

...........right before I puked :bangin:

From bimbo icon to patronizing philanthropist? Fine, I'll take that.

That would be something. :D

"Mother Paris".

PS: why the gunman wackos in the States never shoot a stupid persona like Paris or some TV / radio preachers instead of innocent people?

Somewhere down the line, presumably within a Hollywood PR office, someone made a calculation that this is a great chance to reform her image. With the outcry and lack of support for her incarceration, release and subsequent re-incarceration, it doesn't take a genius PR man to know that her old image was losing its appeal to the public.
.
Celebrities are not the only people who give money and volunteer their time to charities. Unlike celebrities, most ordinary people have no publicity to gain by being charitable. Does a celeb ever donate money or fight for a cause without having their name plastered in the news media?

I am cynical. Celebrity charity is a win-win situation. A movie star or athlete donates $500,000, he'll probably get millions back from endorsements because he is now more marketable, as a nice, generous guy! In that case, a donation is not purely an act of charity; it is a transaction and an investment.

.....................and everytime a celeb makes a donation or trip dedicated to humanity they talk about it on Oprah to make sure the whole world hears about it.

Exactly! And the celebs actually think they are doing the world a favor by going on her show and blabbing about their celebrated causes. If they ask the volunteers who have no vested interest in donating their own time, such as those volunteering in Africa for international aid agencies, they don't want the celebrities there! And I don't think it's because they are jealous of Angelina, George or any other. Actual volunteers who are constantly helping the poor and unfortunate think celebrities detract from their humanitarian work.

When celebrities go overboard with their investment in giving to charity and make it an image investment, they take advantage of the situation and the people they are fighting for. Tobacco companies might give millions to charity, but they also spend more millions advertising the fact that they gave to charity.

Oh God no ....surely you're not suggesting Angelina and Madonna actually used the adoption of their children for personal publicity .......I can't believe what I'm reading ....I'm shocked ...horrified even. :D

A bit off topic ... Yet ...

I remembered an episode of Oprah Show. It was really bizzare.

Oprah went to Ethiopia visiting a hospital in the middle of nowhere, run by a wealthy old Caucasian lady doctor. That hospital helped local bush women to rid of vaginal fistula (something nasty that had emerged during labor) so their families would accept them again (they had been expelled from community due that vaginal situation) ...

OK, back to the point ... Oprah came there in a private jet, then in a helicopter, and then in a RangeRover ... And then she greeted the patients , and donated to those poor local women the following things (donated by sponsors):

cashmere sweaters !!!
silk scarfs !!!
sets of make-up kit !!!
a designer purses !!!
and $100 each in a local currency !!!

WHAT A CHARITY!!! :t-crazy2: :t-banghea

Cashmere sweaters, silk scarfs, designer purses & make-up kits for bush women ???!!!

Stupid Oprah!

And then back in studio she claimed Ethiopian women are so beautiful - so skinny & with pronounced cheek bones . :eusa_doh:

Stupid Oprah, haven't you realized they are in such shape because they are starving ???!!! :t-crazy2:

I almost puked!

It was so bizzare. And every time I see such PR-stunt-charity I started to feel sick!

I really hope Paris won't join the club. It will look SUPERFAKE!

PS: later I've read a comment by an anthropologist who knew the situation in those Ethiopian villages that those $100 donated by Oprah could seriously endanger those women since that was really a lot of money - so there was a great chance those poor women with $100 in their pockets to be robbed & murdered. Great help, Oprah! :t-crazy2:

I know what you're talking about. There's also the jillion-dollar shcool for women that Oprah built in South Africa that came with a spa and a yoga room.

It's nice that Oprah is a giving woman, but then again... this is chump change for her. The particular brand of charity she has been seen brandishing about in Africia is nothing short of insulting. These people don't need luxury schools Oprah, they need basic help! But oh, I get it. That wouldn't wouldn't make exciting headlines would it?

Makes me sick just thinking about it.

Still, it's better than the UN diplomat who wouldn't visit Ethiopia unless there was a 5 star hotel he could stay in -- so guess what, Ethiopia has a fabulous 5 star hotel in the middle of its desperate poverty ....with next to no tourists. They spent millions building a modern international airport where the staff outnumber the passengers. All this in a country where millions die of aids and a corrupt communist government which continues to expect the west to feed its population.
