Pagani Huayra Roadster will have less weight than Coupe

Ultra-speed coupe will have a premiere for about month at the Geneva Salon

Convertibles always have the bigger mass than Coupe. The logical thing because Roadsters must have a reinforced body, and there is also a mechanism for raising and lowering the sunroof, which also contributes to weight gain. Horacio Pagani assures us that it can be done differently.

- From the beginning we had the idea to make Roadster, which will have less mass than the coupe - said Horacio, without revealing how they do it, it is clear that Horacio and his engineers have to be very innovative and the sleeve to draw a number of tricks to that succeeded. The answers to many questions we get in a month at the Geneva salon when Huayra Roadster will have its premiere.

Pagani Will Release An Electric Car In 2025 To Fry Your Brain Completely

Horacio Pagani confirmed that a new Pagani is in the works for 2025 that will be all electric, reports Spanish-language site Autodato. Pagani already breaks our brains with supercars that look like the lovechild of an Le Mans prototype and a UFO from Planet Fancytron. Now they’re going to zap those brains to mush with lightning-fast electric torque.

Pagani is still working on a third model to be powered by a conventionally fueled biturbo engine from AMG. Due to popular demand, that Huayra successor will also have a manual transmission available as an option. However, he also told Autodato that they’re working on a fourth model to be released in 2025 that will be the company’s first all-electric car.

Sadly, Pagani believes that the V12 engines that make supercars like the ones his company makes are becoming less viable as emissions regulations become stricter and more difficult to meet. Because he thinks these engines will only hold out until 2025, he already has a staff of over 20 people working to develop an electric Pagani to release that year.

He is—thankfully—drawing the line at autonomous technology, as it doesn’t fit the kinds of cars Pagani makes. Pagani told Autodato that he builds “toys” which customers buy to enjoy driving. Naturally, a toy built for driving can’t drive itself.

EDIT: Jalopnik article didn't mention that Huayra successor will have manual and automatic gearbox. Here is the original article from autodato.com

My guess Huayra successor will have V8 from AMG

Pagani: existing battery tech not light enough for future electric hypercar!

An electric Pagani is still being worked on, but it will only appear if it can be lightweight

Pagani remains hard at work on an electric hypercar, but admitted that it’ll only release something if it conforms to the company’s philosophy of being lightweight. Current battery technology means... that won’t be anytime soon.

Christopher Pagani, son of founder Horacio, told TopGear.com that the team have been working on developing an electric hypercar since 2018, and “there is no need for us to stop that”.

What might stall it, though, is existing EV technology. “Our goal is to create something that has to be lightweight. Looking at Pagani, what you see that is common with all the vehicles that we produce, they have to be lightweight.

“You have to have a special feeling driving it, which sometimes you can call ‘fun’. You can call it pleasure. But the weight is definitely our first question mark. So probably, nowadays with the existing technology we cannot create the Pagani the way that we would like to do.”

He noted how the challenge of developing EVs was appealing to the company. “There are a lot of amazing things to innovate in an electric car – we're not afraid of innovation.”

Pagani of course, has a long and successful partnership with Mercedes. Asked about whether the company could use Merc’s EV architecture – battery, motors and so on – Pagani said: “We are having constant meetings with Mercedes-Benz and AMG, and we are evaluating it. They are our official partner at the moment so when we need [to build] a full electric car, we will take the final decision [then].

My father, and in general everybody who works at Pagani, has this approach that if we feel capable of doing something, we’ll do it internally. But if not, we won't,” he added.

He pointed to the use of Mercedes-AMG's engines for its cars, but how those units were developed specifically for the Italian hypercar maker. “I think you have to be blind to say ‘I’ll do things by myself because I’m better than the others’. If you’re open, you can get sources of amazing components that are custom to your car. We don’t take things out of other vehicles – everything is developed for Pagani cars.

“The V12 – it's a Pagani V12.”

Speaking of V12s, Pagani noted how during development of the brand-new Utopia (pictured above) – only Pagani’s third ever model line – Mercedes-AMG originally suggested using a V8 hybrid. “But we, let’s say ‘challenged them’ to keep the V12, and they accepted.

“As far as how long we are going to have the V12? This really depends on how the regulations are going. We know that for small manufacturers we can have it at least until 2035. But we’re not afraid of approaching another powertrain in the future. We just have to know what the rules are.”

Will the shift to electric be the most difficult challenge Pagani has ever faced? “Actually, no. We as a family-owned brand are not under pressure of jumping into something if we are not ready, or not 100 per cent convinced.

“We have a long timeline of cars coming, but for us, with the volumes that we produce, we feel very comfortable of where we are. We always kept our [volume] numbers very safe. We don’t follow the market, or fashion. We want to stay stable because at the end of the day, we have over 200 employees. We want them to feel safe. The decision we take, we take together.”

I would love to know secrets and details about how Horacio manages the "business", he is very successful in all aspects, nothing was ever said about it, but McLaren is half bankrupt, others survive and Pagani is very happy being a small manufacturer, which generally ends up bought by large manufacturers....
How will he handle his company....lots of profits?, is he a great administrator...?

So Horacio Pagani was awarded a honorary masters degree by Politecnico university of Milan.

As a gesture he placed a Zonda F roadster, Huayra roadster and Utopia in one of the buildings of the university together with a exhibition on the art of air.

The cars are there until the 12 of December 8-20.45 Monday to Saturday.

Crazy thing is that there are uni kids studying and the damn cars are just there. No security nothing , surreal experience and you can just walk around and touch whatever you want ( if you are rude enough to not respect the art).

Not many people know about this , so if you guys can go. I’ve never been around paganis this undisturbed ever.

Also the first time I’ve seen the Utopia in real life ( mind blown ) .

Also to see them side by side is very interesting and I conclude there is NOTHING that can hold a candle to the Zonda , no other pagani and certainly no other brand. The damn car is like a mythical figure. And you all know how long I’ve been singing the praise of pagani , and a thought just hit me. I was invited to the Zonda F debut and it was 550k euros . The last Zonda F roaster was sold for 10 mill. I just hate every one of you old members and myself. Why didn’t we all put some money in the pot and got ourselves a Zonda back then????! Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

You wasted your damn life drooling over 3 series BMW’s!!! Beeee Mmmmm Double Uuu’sss!!!!

Fanculo la mia vita. Che sfortuna essere circondato da fan della BMW

LMAO.

We can always go back in time and get ourselves some of these fresh bitcoins.

Indeed, the Zonda was it for me once I seen it in real life.
But at these recent prices, they'll continue to be a dream.
