Pagani News Thread

What the hell! Really?
That's almost even better than seeing the Zonda R in the flesh, which I thought this was about!

Directly from Pagani official website:

"Pagani Automobili wishes to commemorate the extraordinary race Juan Manuel Fangio drove on the difficult circuit Nurbrugring Nordschleife 50 years ago, on the 4th of August 1957. Running 45 seconds behind with 10 laps to go, Fangio beat the lap record constantly over the last few rounds around the Nordschleife and taking the first place in the last lap. For Fangio it was the race of his life and it is still rated by many as the single greatest drive in motorsport history. The Pagani Zonda F Clubsport carries the spirit of Fangio and it was a natural choice to celebrate the champion at the Nordschleife. At 7:28pm, with 10 C on the diabolical circuit of 20,6 km and 73 corners, the Zonda F crossed the finish line posting a time of 7:27:82, setting a new record for production supercars. The Zonda F comes with shock absorbers fully adjustable. It was easy for the driver Marc Basseng to find the right setup, in the same way it is done with every Pagani customer. At the Nurburgring Nordschleife aerodynamics come to shine. In combination with Pirellis the Zonda’s efficient downforce package permitted to achieve average lateral G forces of 1,5 G which is impressive for a street car. Fangio wins with Pirelli and Zonda F uses Pirelli Pzero, signing in this way the start of the official collaboration between Pirelli and Pagani Automobili. Pagani is proud to be able to dedicate this success to the great champion Juan Manuel Fangio and wishes to thank the technical partners AMG, Aspa, Automac, Bosch, COBO, Digitek, MHG, SPS, Texa."

Oh well... I can tell you about a peak of 1,8 Gs of lateral acceleration at the Karroussel, or about an INHUMAN top speed reached (Koenigsegg's record has been destroyed as well), or a MUCH FASTER LAP they did. As much as I can tell you their english sucks a bit... :D But it's ok.
Anyway, ladies and gentleman...

Horacio Pagani is the new "Lord of the Ring".
And the story continues...

Pagani Test Driver Davide Testi Talks about His Awesome Job

Being a test driver for a renowned sports car manufacturer is probably the No. 1 dream job among car enthusiasts, but very few are good and lucky enough to make their dream come true.

Davide Testi is one of them, as the Italian has been working for Pagani Automobili since he graduated from Ferrari’s mechanical school. But don’t think that Horacio Pagani put him in one of his cars right away. Testi had to start with lesser jobs at the factory and was only allowed behind the wheel of a Pagani after two years of work.

When he first drove the Pagani Zonda, he had to do it with Horacio Pagani in the passenger seat, so understandably he was quite nervous. But everything went well and since then he has been driving Pagani supercars for a living. Not bad, right? Scroll down to hear his story from /Drive’s latest video.
