Quattro Commander
Well, I went out with the wife yesterday morning for some errands and I made the mistake of stopping in at the Audi dealer as we passed by. We pulled in and drove through the lot. I asked my wife if there was anything she wanted to look at. She said no, so I started to leave. I saw a new black TT coupe and remebered she likes the TT. I asked if she wanted a look, and she said yes. We went into the dealer and were looking at a white TT, when over my shoulder I see a RS4 cabrio in the corner. I go over to look at it and ask the salesman if it is sold- It is not. My wife really likes it, and says she wants it so I got it for her. We traded in her ML500 that just went off warranty. Interestingly we stopped next door at the Mercedes dealer and told our salesperson there (who we consider a personal friend and we have known even before she worked at MB) we were getting the RS4 and that out ML was off warranty. She immediately said, "You have to get rid of it once it's off warranty- dump it!". Hows that for confidence in the product you sell?
We left for lunch while the Audi dealer was doing the paperwork. I convinced my wife to test drive a E63, since it about the same price as the RS4 cabrio and the dealer has 2 in stock that they are discounting by over $6000. I also talked to her about a M6 or M6 cabrio, but she has no interest in the BMW because of the style. We drove the E63 and neither of us liked it. I drove the E55 a few times in the past, and each time it felt fast, but the E63 did not feel fast, although I know it is very fast. It was not much fun to drive. We both liked the RS4 drive though. Plus E63 are everywhere here. Driving 4 miles from our home to the car dealer yesterday after lunch we saw 2 E63 going down the road. The RS4 should be rarer.
Anyway here is the car, my wife's early christmas present. It's black metallic with black interior, contrasting piping, and ipod interface. The only options on the RS4 cab are ipod interface and aluminum trim instead of carbon fiber. We have the standard carbon fiber.
