Our new 2008 RS4 Cabrio

Quattro Commander
Well, I went out with the wife yesterday morning for some errands and I made the mistake of stopping in at the Audi dealer as we passed by. We pulled in and drove through the lot. I asked my wife if there was anything she wanted to look at. She said no, so I started to leave. I saw a new black TT coupe and remebered she likes the TT. I asked if she wanted a look, and she said yes. We went into the dealer and were looking at a white TT, when over my shoulder I see a RS4 cabrio in the corner. I go over to look at it and ask the salesman if it is sold- It is not. My wife really likes it, and says she wants it so I got it for her. We traded in her ML500 that just went off warranty. Interestingly we stopped next door at the Mercedes dealer and told our salesperson there (who we consider a personal friend and we have known even before she worked at MB) we were getting the RS4 and that out ML was off warranty. She immediately said, "You have to get rid of it once it's off warranty- dump it!". Hows that for confidence in the product you sell?

We left for lunch while the Audi dealer was doing the paperwork. I convinced my wife to test drive a E63, since it about the same price as the RS4 cabrio and the dealer has 2 in stock that they are discounting by over $6000. I also talked to her about a M6 or M6 cabrio, but she has no interest in the BMW because of the style. We drove the E63 and neither of us liked it. I drove the E55 a few times in the past, and each time it felt fast, but the E63 did not feel fast, although I know it is very fast. It was not much fun to drive. We both liked the RS4 drive though. Plus E63 are everywhere here. Driving 4 miles from our home to the car dealer yesterday after lunch we saw 2 E63 going down the road. The RS4 should be rarer.

Anyway here is the car, my wife's early christmas present. It's black metallic with black interior, contrasting piping, and ipod interface. The only options on the RS4 cab are ipod interface and aluminum trim instead of carbon fiber. We have the standard carbon fiber.

Congratulations to your wifes new RS4!! The car looks absolutely stunning and fits perfectly to your garage!! I think, you really made the ride decision in buying one of these - it's an awesome car with great design.

Nice choice, the RS4 cabrio is not a car you see everday, it's quite rare. How do you feel about the rigidity off the car, it's not like a Saab 900 cabrio is it? Very neat looking garage by the way.

Congratulations that is a beautiful car:usa7uh: I sore a saloon Res4 today all black with black rims, that was really nice. But sadly i cant get an rs4 until I'm 30 because of the insurance:t-banghea:(

That car is rare!
Never seen one yet,
I've seen both the saloon and the Avant but none of the Cabrio.

What a awsome gift to give to you're wife! :usa7uh:
But you are allowed to use it ?;)

I've seen you're garage before - it's also pretty much awsome!
soon not enough space?

The car is truly amazing.. I've "tested" it as a co-pilot back in 2005..

I also like the fact that you're wife KNOWS what she is driving.. :eusa_clap
and that she also fancy Audi abov BMW :D J/K

Merry Christmas .. Hoho!!
 :t-drive:

Thanks for sharing drronh

wow nice ride man..so they still make these then?
i thought they killed off the whole RS4 line..i guess its just the sedan then..

anyways.. congrats to your wife..

Yep they're still making the sedan for a few more months and the cabrio a few months after that. Mainly for the U.S. market I'd guess or can these still be brought in Europe?

I was on the audi website today and you couldn't buy the rs4 saloon:confused: and they didnt have the current model on the a4 they had they new a4.

drronh, your wife is a very lucky woman, and I'm sure the RS4 cab would be a much flashier car to be seen in than the previous ML. Congratulations and I'm envious!

Well then maybe all remaining production is for the 2008 model year in the U.S. Make sense because our 2008 A4 is the "old" model.

Congrats on the new car. I think this is the first time I've heard of the RS4 Cabrio, great choice!!

Also, your garage looks amazing!

Dude, amazing. Many happy miles for your wife. One day you're gonna have to bless us all with a full garage photoshoot so we all can have pretty new wallpapers for all of our computers! :-D

That is one hell of a car.
Can you tell us a little more how you compare it to your other rides? How it handles etc...
:)
