Anyway I don’t really understand what happened but it looks like you got into your car Betty and drove up to Paris to have a look at the new 3er and you didn’t find it to be the second coming of Christ ?
And thus nearly half the forum wants you hanged by your balls, but instead they used the brilliant rating system, and you being the way you are tried to make sense of these ratings, while they were just a way to express deep hatred towards you and your opinion of the 3er ? This then derailed into this shit storm ?

To tell you the truth, it is a pain in the ass when a single post is both on and off topic... I can also 'split' his post and move the corresponding section here... but it's a real pain..

Yep. Exactly.

The truth is, this BMW fan didn't get blown away by it. That's all. So I tried to explain why that might be, whilst also saying that in three months I might LOVE it.

To be fair, most people read my thoughts, thanked me, and moved on, safe in the knowledge that they're just opinions and they're really not that important. It's only the usual small hardcore group of BMW fanboys who couldn't deal with it and seem to take any slight against a BMW as some kind of personal insult.

In order to split it and post the off topic part here I have to make one post, then go to the database and make a change to reflect it's a post by klier instead of yours truly, then move it here.

Or less risky, get @klier to post something here and copy paste that part, then delete that part from the G20 thread, or, find a post from klier that has been deleted as a duplicate post before, then change its time/date stamp in the database, and then undelete and move here.

If that is not a pain in the ass I don't know what it is... and does it really justify all that time and effort, and risk (touching the database manually) for this? I appreciate your understanding.

And that can be fixed too... as in removing a member's capability to give negative ratings (or any ratings for that matter), when clearly shows it is abuse of the rating system instead of honest ratings..
Please report such incidents and we'll review them.

Yes, it's really funny, and also well deserving of a nice vacation from our site! I just saw this one insulting post today as I prepped all these posts to move here.. Derek was very kind to delete, however, such insults cannot and should not be tolerated. One thing is to call someone a 'moron', but that is nowhere NEAR the level of insults I see on that post.
