I think the Bugatti Veyron was publicly proven many times to do 253mph(407km/h) and the McLaren F1 388km/h(241mph).
PS. In the proof video Andy Wallace says 391km/h which is 243mph, but everywhere they always say 241mph??
I am confused.

Same, but Mclaren achieved 391km/h by removing the rear view mirrors, so I don't think technically, the 391km/h counts.
