Cullinan [Official] The Rolls-Royce Cullinan

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is the brand's first all-wheel drive vehicle, named after the Cullinan Diamond, the largest gem-quality rough diamond ever discovered. The Cullinan is positioned above the Ghost and below the Phantom in Rolls-Royce's range. Production: 2018-
Looks like a render to me as these wheels are YUGE  Not sure there would be any rubber left if copy-pasting these rims to the production wheel diameter.

As far as I knew, a given model always has a fixed wheel (rim + tire) diameter and the rims can only get as big as the tires' converse thinness would allow. If they can now make the whole wheel diameter bigger on certain models, that's amazing as this example here is reaching design sketch level

Rolls-Royce's newest model is the latest to receive a variant from the British ultraluxury automaker's performance and engineering subbrand, Black Badge.

The Cullinan Black Badge SUV receives a handful of design and performance changes over the standard model. They include an increase of 29 hp and 37 pound-feet of torque to the 6.75-liter-twin turbo V-12 engine for a total of 600 hp and 664 pound-feet of torque. The automaker said the drivetrain and chassis were also re-engineered.

In terms of design elements, as the name implies, the Black Badge variant gets darkened chrome surfaces for the front grille frame and exhaust pipes as well as trim pieces on the side and rear of the vehicle. The Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament is finished in a darkened, gloss-black chrome. The model also gets 22-inch wheels and red brake calipers.

Inside, there's a starlight headliner, which has become a design hallmark for Rolls-Royce.
Rolls-Royce introduced Black Badge in 2016 at the Geneva auto show with the Ghost sedan and Wraith coupe. It added a Dawn convertible Black Badge variant in 2017. Rolls-Royce does not offer a Phantom Black Badge, nor does it plan to, a company spokesman said.

The automaker has said that Black Badge variants have brought younger buyers to the brand, with the average customer for those vehicles being under 40. Additionally, 1 in 5 Rolls-Royce sales are now Black Badge models, the automaker noted.
The Cullinan Black Badge starts at 324,275 euros in Germany.

Even a double decker bus has a better CD factor and less drag than this driving block of flats. Not very convinced by the Cullinan, its exterior styling is too square and upright. The interior on the other hand is really luxurious. The ride comfort and quietness must be superb in this car.

.... unlikely. Cd is probably 0.3 - 0.35 (X7 is 0.33), so at a push it might have the same coefficient as a really slippery single-deck bus, but the overall drag won't be close because the frontal area is much smaller.

I mean, I know what you're getting at, it looks quite upright, but still... CdA is unlikely to prove that beyond most other cars in this class.

Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge: Global Launch

With the superhit that is the Cullinam derived from the Phantom, the next obvious step is to make a SUV derived from the Ghost, coupeish type, cheaper and a little smaller, I am not a fortune teller but something tells me that they should already be drawing it

Although based on the Phantom's "architecture," I reckon the Cully leans more towards the Ghost than the Phantom in terms of its placement in R-R's line-up.

The cullinan will be a blockbuster for RR and I think customer will end up asking for a second SUV that's perhaps a touch more youthful.

I'm pretty sure it's natural habitat looks a little more like this...

As Mat Watson reports in the above review, the very slight overhang of bodywork jutting over the headlights was apparently the designers trying to imitate the Saxon warriors' helmet brow... Well this dirty dog mode picture posted above shows that area in fact really is pretty much flat, there isn't much recess at all, maybe less even than on the Phantom.

It's a real shame, given the brand's iconic design language and given the new design possibilities opened by the SUV architecture, that they haven't been more daring in the exterior design department and have delivered such a half-assed end result. Not saying they should have gone berserk, but the various design elements could have been tweaked in a more audacious way versus the Phantom: more pronounced SUV traits (the front fascia pretty much looks like a Rolls-Royce sedan was slightly stretched vertically, there isn't much SUV taste added) such as larger metal sump guards / skid plates, larger wheels (OK 22" is large, but the Phantom itself already wears 22", so such a behemoth easily would have accommodated 23", still doable in the industry, e.g. Urus), wheels sticking slightly more outwards, more carved out vents / air intakes, and more character to the headlights / taillights. That's it. Otherwise, it pretty much nails the overall volumes which had to be just as square and imposing. But as it is, not only does it look less elegant than the Phantom (of course), but also less imposing and charismatic, which it certainly shouldn't have.

Not that this will in any way hinder demand for this model, which for sure will be higher than the offer due to the production being capped for exclusivity reasons. Simply for the sake of design and posterity, because why not if it's possible.

In its natural habitat.

Nice catch!, as it is sad to see it so dirty and in that situation but at the same time it also looks competent for the task, in the photo it looks cool and reveals that it does not have complexes and faces what comes as a whole Rolls

I hear what you are saying and when the car was revealed I was equally disappointed by how matter of fact the design it. Having seen the Cullinan on the roads a few times, my opinion is that the design of the car is fine and politically correct for RR. Out of all their cars, it's the model that will growingly be seen by more people than any other RR model.

It makes a lot of sense for the Cullinan to be a straight faced ambassador of the brand. Let's be honest, the exterior of Rolls Royce are rarely design led. What stands out about them is the imposing grille and big presence. Out of all the elite SUVs e.g Bentyga, DBX, Cullinan and Urus, I think the Rolls Royce will age best over time. However it would be great to see a smaller SUVs with a few braver design features.

2019 sales figures for RR will be revealing about how popular the Cullinan is. The Urus has sma...
It looks like all these car companies that previously didn’t have SUVs are doing well , Urus, Cullinan and I’m sure the DBX will be a success for Aston, but why is Bentley not doing that great with the Bentayga? ...or have things changed?
