718 Boxster/Cayman [Official] The new Porsche 718 GTS models

The Porsche Boxster and Cayman are mid-engine two-seater sports cars manufactured and marketed by German automobile manufacturer Porsche across four generations—as a two-door, two-seater roadster (Boxster) and a three-door, two-seater fastback coupé (Cayman). Since the introduction of the fourth generation in 2016, the two models have been marketed as the Porsche 718 Boxster and Porsche 718 Cayman.
Why though ?
And what is the source?

I would buy it if they did it for the next gen.

People simply do not like the 4 pot offered and the 718's sale numbers reflect this. The article is from motor1,I am simply quoting it.

Probably more a Touring version to me. GTS is already in the lineup.

That is entirely possible, but I don't see any of the styling cues from the GT4 present and am inclined to believe a touring version won't be made available.

What. The. F#ck.

"The F#ck" is now confirmed. Current GTS Cayman and Boxster GTS to be replaced by GTS 4.0 with a detuned 6-cylinder from the GT4 and Spyder. 400hp.

Its official, But No pdk ofcourse cause it would be as quick as a gt4.
I guess the RS will debut the pdk for this engine and it will trickle down.
