Clubman [Official] The New MINI Clubman

The Mini Clubman is a subcompact executive car engineered and manufactured by German automaker BMW and sold under the Mini marque from 2007-2024.
I never said it was family car it's a second car. But second cars are often used for hauling the kids if needed to. I have a car seat and a booster in the A1. The A1 Sportback has a longer and wider opening back doors than the 5dr MINI, which makes it easier to get my daughter into and out of, it also has a bigger boot.

I had a Countryman, I would not buy one again, it's a car which doesn't know what it is supposed to be. IMO it would have been a much better car if MINI hadn't tried to pretend it was an SUV, on lower suspension with reduced ride height they are much better, I've driven a couple which have been lowered, I should have done the same to mine, it really does turn a pigs ear into a silk purse.

Why, for God's sake, did you buy your MINI then?

Before ordering, you didn't see it, see how it's doors open or drive it?

Or it fell from the sky?

Fell from the sky, I bought one of the first ones in Norway, the dealer didn't have a demo car. I (stupidly) thought since the Clubman I replaced it with was an excellent car and the MINI before that was also good, MINI would have done a decent job on the Countryman.

So, the Clubman is not necessarily rubbish. It's just that it wasn't what you expected and you constantly vent out your anger, busting our balls, because you (stupidly) bought one without seeing it first.

Now it all makes sense.

:)

The new Clubman looks rubbish, it wouldn't take much to improve it, I don't know what it will be like to drive, I'll wait until I get an invite to drive it. The old Clubman was a great drive, IMO the best of the 2nd Gen MINI's, the longer wheelbase made it feel a lot more stable and cut out the choppy ride or the 3dr.

Kind of detracting from this fantastic new car the past few messages.

2016 MINI Clubman

MINI has released new details about the 2016 Clubman following a preview earlier this year.

Set to go on sale in Germany on Halloween, the redesigned Clubman is essentially an enlarged version of the Cooper five-door as it's 27cm longer, 9cm wider and rides on a wheelbase that has been stretched 10cm. The larger dimensions create a more accommodating cabin and cargo compartment which can hold up to 1250 liters (44.1 cubic feet) of luggage when the rear seats are folded down.

On the performance front, the entry-level One D Clubman has a 1.5-liter three-cylinder diesel engine with 116 PS (85 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. It's not exactly fast as it takes 10.4 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h but on the upside it averages between 3.8- and 3.9 L/100km.

The Cooper D Clubman is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine which develops 150 PS (110 kW) and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque. This allows the model to run from 0-100 km/h in 8.5 - 8.6 seconds

The most powerful diesel variant is the Cooper SD Clubman which features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 190 PS (140 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.4 seconds.

On the petrol side, the entry-level One Clubman has an anemic 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that churns out 102 PS (75 kW) and 180 Nm (132 lb-ft) of torque. Acceleration is unsurprisingly slow as the dash from 0-100 km/h takes between 11.1 - 11.7 seconds.

Moving up to the Cooper Clubman rewards buyers with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that produces 136 PS (100 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque - 230 Nm (169 lb-ft) with overboost. In terms of performance, the car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.1 seconds and return between 5.1 - 5.3 L/100km.

Last but not least, the Cooper S Clubman has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 192 PS (141 kW) and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft) of torque - 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) with overboost. This allows the model to run from 0-100 km/h in as little as 7.1 seconds.

The MINI Cooper Clubman with its three cylinder engine is a peach of a car.
Its fabulous.

Also gone is the typical MINI coloured boxes and the snappy marketing blurbs. Replaced by a more sophisticated boutique-style image with similarities to how Rolls-Royce present their products. The parallels are similar-one catering for the ultimate in luxury products the other for a premium product at the other end of the market. The perfect bookends for BMW.

I'd get one just for those rear barn doors. It's cool and just like most cool things, also useless. And just like most useless, cool things, I want one.

Mini config site needs to give more viewing options than front and rear 3/4. That being said, I think the white top looks better.

MINI

Mini (stylized as MINI) is a British automotive brand founded in 1969, owned by German BMW since 2000, and used by them for a range of small cars assembled in the United Kingdom, Austria, and the Netherlands. The word Mini has been used in car model names since 1959, and in 1969 it became a brand in its own right when the name "Mini" replaced the separate "Austin Mini" and "Morris Mini" car model names.
