In what way? If there's one car that looks like an afterthought between the A5, 4er and C coupe it's the C coupe. Looks almost rental next to the others.

Looks are subjective, sales are not. And EnI was saying MB is going to become the lead in sales, which IMO means the second place is going to be disputed between Audi and BMW as I am sure both will have interesting offerings in the next months.

Well, although the A5 is not bad looking at all, the 4er wins hands down. Except for the cheap looking interior.

The old A5 already was a good looking car, but the new version beats it on every possible front.
Well done Audi. I like this car. The RS is going to be a sight to behold.

Yes, it does have some sort of a Hofmeister-Knick :D

Some sort? That's a true to Mr Hoffmeister kink. Can't possible see anything else there.
Also, it instantly makes the side profile look good, LOL!

It looks kinda good but then I think its not as pretty or elegant as the previous model. The rear especially looks a bit bland. I like the front, especially S5 version, although in most aspects the new car is just a modern evolution of the previous model. They have tried to make it look more muscular on the side panels but adding in deeper character line from front lights to back lights and then also lower down on the door it has a stepped double line to give the doors more depth.

The profile though seems like the pointier front makes the front overhang look longer than the previous model, which i am not too fond of.

Interior is superb as usual it is straight from the A4, so nothing much of a change.

But compare the latest A5 to 4 series and C-class coupe and in my opinion it doesn't look as good as either of them.

Hmm...

It certainly looks crisp and fresh. It also looks like it's a product of VW's design language and not Audi's.

I agree with what many of you said above. All the designers did was crispify the outgoing design and continue with the same clinical look. The interior is good, arguably, but we've seen it already. Plus, as Matsky said above, it rattles a lot - something that matched my experience.

The front reminds me of the facelifted Volvo S60 mkII. It lost the distinctive pre-fl headlights, now looking sharp but very sterile.

At least they corrected the shoulder line. The A5 doesn't look bent anymore.

It will be a good car to be, that's certain, but certainly not my cup of tea.

I don't think the new grille and the new headlights work together.

Individually - Yes

Audi is definitely losing its mojo. MB has now the hottest offerings among the German Trio which also demonstrates via incredible sales numbers.

Although the C-Class coupe has the looks of a showstopper and is very expressive, there is room in the market for the A5. Those who like understated design will find it very appealing. It's a very sophisticated looking car that I'm sure will grow on many people, especially those who already like the current model.

The new A5 is a step in the right direction which is modernisation of the shape of the first generation. Call it predictable but I wasn't expecting anything more than an improvement of what's already is a handsome car.

My only criticism is the S5 which is unnecessarily shouty with the aluminum trim on the front and rear bumper. It's a distraction from the gorgeous shoulder line that softens the masculine design.

It's understatedly handsome, there's no denying that. And, like the A4, it'll likely grow on me, but it doesn't grab me emotionally.

Right now, I feel....

Beautiful car just like it's sibling (A4). And like it's sibling it's the best looking in it's class at the moment after the 4er.

My quick take is that I'm shocked by how dull the face of this car is. I expected something more expressive like the A4 or even the TT. It seems like the least aggressive or interesting solution you could arrive at given Audi's new 'edge' direction...

There's just nothing distinctive about it. If it was a rehash of the A4 or the FL A7 this would probably look sick, but nothing about the face says 'Audi' to me.

Rest of the car looks sharp. Interior looks amazing. Hope that my impressions of the car will change IRL. S5 has been in outer orbit on my shopping list for a while.

I think I would have preferred just the A4 lights...

Oh, I don't know. This car confuses me.

The rear works for me.
