X3 M / X4 M [Official] The BMW X3 M (F97) and the BMW X4 M (F98)

In 2019, BMW introduced the X4 M and X4 M Competition (F98), being the first time an X4 had a M version. The X4 M is fitted with a 3.0 L S58 straight-six that produced 473 horsepower with the Competition models producing 503 horsepower. Full M models can be fitted with full M specific M Performance Parts. These include a splitter, spoiler, sport steering wheel, carbon fibre vents and kidney grilles.
I hope they have managed to mask the cars considerable weight relative to the class. Those privileged to have first drives I trust will give us an initial incite..

The nose is excellent. Not to nitpick but slightly wider fenders would have completed the aggression and distinguished the car more the M40i and M-Sport models.
The new X3 M looks great but in a way I am also slightly disappointed it doesnt look that different to a X3 M40i. Wider wheel arches and bigger air intakes would make a huge difference.

I actually like the grey grill and front intakes on the M40i more than the X3 M front and the wheels look very similar too.

IMO the M3 is the M car with the biggest advantage in presence over an M-Sport variant. Yhe rear packs visual punch!

The X3 M looks fantastic I must say, although perhaps a bit tame from the front.
The X4 M however......well.....hmmm....I got to say the GLC Coupe looks much better.

I would say it is because of the MPV looking rear of the X4. The GLC is one of the few SACs with a well resolved rear end (much better than the GLEgg). Something hopefully BMW has solved with the new X6.

The X3M is just spectacular. The work M is doing with the front bumpers elevates every design they touch.

BMW M

BMW M GmbH, formerly known as BMW Motorsport GmbH, is a subsidiary of BMW AG that manufactures high-performance luxury cars. BMW M ("M" for "motorsport") was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicle portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics, and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tuned at BMW's private facility at the Nürburgring racing circuit in Germany.
