Fortwo/Forfour [Official] Smart ForTwo & ForFour

The Smart Fortwo (stylized as "smart fortwo") is a two-seater city car manufactured and marketed by the Smart division of the Mercedes-Benz Group for model years 1998–2024, across three generations - each using a rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and a one-box design. The Smart Forfour (stylized as "smart forfour") is a city car (A-segment) marketed by Smart over two generations. The first generation was marketed in Europe from 2004 to 2006 with a front-engine configuration, sharing its platform with the Mitsubishi Colt.
...but it appears to possess the attributes necessary in order to make it a genuine mass-market electric automobile. The footprint and general package will draw swarms of potential customers into SMART stores. It's simply "perfectly sized" for many who are sustaining on a limited budget.
But it will be expensive, my friend. During those troubled times with over 6 months of waiting period for a brand new VW Polo and 9 months for certain commercial vehicles, I highly doubt that this will change the market. It will be a cute car to have and that's it.

Either that, or it's the total negativity that has been in my head the last few weeks.

WOW, that is the best looking thing Smart has ever created. If only they had hung on in the USA this would have been a hit. It no longer looks like an afterthought and even the interior looks good. Yes if you can't beat Mini you join them and it looks like the Opel Adam too. It wouldn't be the hard to re-introduce Smart back to the USA. There were no stand alone dealers, they were all in house with Mercedes and Mercedes dealers still service Smarts so once you get a companion vehicle to this one, bring it back. EV only, it would be hit with this funky design.

Has Smart withdrawn from North America? I would say this car has making more of a bigger impact there.

I believe that it was in the presentation video by German automotive YouTuber Chris Karatsonyi in which it was briefly mentioned that starting list price for the base SMART #1 would be somewhere in the low 30K Euros area. When deducting state/manufacturer environmental "Innovation Boni" (in Germany), we may be looking at the mid-20K Euro area. I reckon that this could be acceptable value-for-money should it be accurate. Then again, I currently do not have a clue as to just how "naked" the base model will be.

Smart is a premium-priced product. Just compare the Renault Twingo to the Smart ForFour - it’s the same car essentially, but you can easily pay €10k more for the ForFour.

My guess is that if you spec the new Smart #1 to match the Mercedes EQA, it will also cost the same.

It's so cute!

But there is a lot of MB EQ DNA in there.

The first Smart with full blown Mercedes interior!

Ok if you find similarities with Mini, but actually it has a lot of common with EQA and Opel Adam...

Sorry for sh*tty Opel picture

Ooof, that Mini looks awful there........very, very dated.

This Smart looks to be far superior to the EQA in every way.....

In the visual comparison at least, the Smart gives me the impression of being more "girly" and placed side by side it makes the MINI look much meaner and more masculine, the Adam is more unisex

Some say this may be performance version of it?

But IMO, looks more like a prototype... Two different colours on front

You could actually picture this as a MINI. It’s not as hideous and ungainly as the Countryman.

I agree 100% with the first part but not with the second, I don't think it's ugly, maybe it could be better.... I would like to know your proposal for what would be your ideal of Countryman.

Working where you do, you must have the knowledge (perhaps not the designer skills) to argue or expand a little more, for example it seemed to me that the current Countryman could have been like the C5 aircross.

Citroen got up early before MINI doing what MINI should have done, what do you think? because with repeating that it is ugly we are not going anywhere.

Countryman is simply too big. It doesn’t hold the traditional MINI design elements well. It’s like it’s been designed with Lego’s. Details are too chunky for a MINI.
