911 (991) [Official] Porsche 911 (991 Series) GT3 RS

The Porsche 991 is the seventh generation of the Porsche 911 sports car, produced from September 2011 to December 2019. It was unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show on 15 September as the replacement for the 997.
Weight: 1,473.5 kg

I hear that the car was 'well spec'ed' (roll cage, PCM, sport chrono, lift, steel brakes, sound plus package, 90 liter fuel tank). --- Temperature of 29 degrees C seemed to have impacted the performance.

I see my pics attached here:).Funny.
Yes I confirm, the car is heavy and the high temperature disturbed the performances but still too much in my opinion since the regular Gt3 was about 2.5 sec faster on the same race track (winter test compared to hot Rs sunmer test).I was expecting at least a pair of seconds of advantage for the Rs..so could the hot temperature have caused 4.5 sec of differential? The delta is too big in my opinion just for the temperature and considering that Balocco should be the right track for the Rs.

@savage-It, you've had one on order, correct? Did you pick it up already?
my car should be ready for the end of the year. But, there are some rumors about a special final limited version (more powerful and FINALLY stripped) so I am thinking if to risk and give the reservation to someone else or not. We will see, since I think that the last version , the limited one, could be a very good investment...I will decide next week.

I'm betting Porsche is reserving a special GT3 RS to be released at the end 991.2 production, as was the case with the 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0. It would be a limited number production to celebrate the end of the naturally aspirated 911.

My unsolicited advice... I'd get the RS that you have already reserved. This car seems plenty special. Better to have something than nothing...

Thanks for posting! Read the test, the RS came 3rd (though it posted the fastest laptime) as it was the most track-oriented car (with much less focus on everyday usability) and AZ seemed to be looking for the best all rounder. Hardly surprising, the standard GT3 would have fitted that bill better...

Pardon the pun, but this is really "rubbing" owners of the 991 RS "up the wrong way". It seems in deep compression sections on the Nuerburgring & SPA the front wheels are rubbing against the inner wheel well (there are threads on the German PFF Porsche forum as well as on the Rennlist forum).

some rumors here (I have got similar news by more than 2 months ):

The Porsche 911R comes with manual transmission
Porsche still has listened to its customers. The brand unveils next June (Le Mans? Goodwood?) A GT car that is equipped with a manual transmission. The car will be built in a limited edition of between 600 and 800 copies and comes with a retro interior and a 3.8 or 4.0 GT3 or GT3 RS engine.
On the outside the car is recognizable by the absence of flashy spoilers. This is a car for an entire day driving, according to several customers who have ordered it and we spoke about this model at Rennsport Reunion in California. The reason for the name R 911 can be traced back to the year 1967, when the 911 R conquered circuits thanks to its lightweight body and engine speed. The car is probably the end of next year on the market, supposedly as model year 2017, which the 50th anniversary of the 911 R is celebrated.
Sold Out :
pictures have not yet surfaced, but think a GT3 without spoilers with a retro design and perhaps a few lighter made parts, or the absence of a number of luxury items to lighten the car. Run to the dealer does not make sense, because allegedly all copies have been sold. Dealers have this car because offered to customers who have asked if there was a GT3-like with manual transmission would come. Porsche itself is covered in silence on the model.

Already crazy markups to be found on RS'. It seems any special edition water-cooled 911 is an investment opportunity. The Turbo(S) however is a slow seller versus the 997 - a significant amount sitting in inventory and dealers are offering big incentives.

M.S.R.P is $175k.

A regular GT3 with light modifications is sufficient imo.
