No-no. Fastestlaps.com is a bad source for Contidrom times since it collects all the times under one layout of the track. It has 3.345, a 3,6 and also 3,8 km long version...

you are right I didn't verify this important detail (y)

The RS looks sexier if driven on the track, but on the streets with a cart handle during rush hour :bag:

UV for me!

Damaged Porsche 991 GT3 RS Hurts The Soul

I came across these images of a brand new white Porsche (991) 911 GT3 RS and had to do a little bit of digging to find out what went wrong. It was apparently the owner's nephew behind the wheel of the car when things went wrong but there are no other details as to what happened. It looks like the impact area was back rear and rear and it may even have caught alight as it looks like there are some burn marks visible. What a waste!

In the past, they used to say 996/997 GT3 with RMS is something normal, RMS comes as a default on all GT3 + RS, a daily oil drip is what pushes the owner to grab a piece of cloth and wipe the floor and enjoy staring at the flat-6 from down below every single day, the racing heritage / legendary metzger engine is what makes it worth owning such a master piece :D

Conclusion:

- 996/997 GT3 = RMS + Piece of cloth and you're done! Otherwise, you get them to replace the seal under warranty (which isn't an easy task) with Turbo seal and you'll be good to go.

- 991 GT3/RS = Long wait + Patience to get the engine replaced and you can't wait to list it on ebay and get rid of it asap.

I don't understand Porsche, are they performing their R&D on the consumer or is it a game of patience and how much can you stand this type of BS and be quiet ?

I feel bad for the owners who can't wait to get their hands on this beast and I'm glad I left Porsche for good, it wasn't an easy decision but something had to be done :sorry:

Note to Sunny: you better not make that mistake and ditch your GT3 for anything newer, screw NBR lap times and HHR.

Why did it have to be UV and not Lava Orange ?

Soup, you going to have to forgive me, but what's RMS? I take it that NBR = Nurburgring and HHR = Hockenheim Ring.

These engine issues are becoming a real shame.
