I'm expecting to see a gazillion of these once it goes on sale here...
Overall, I don't think it looks too bad but most non-car-literate people won't probably even notice it's a new model. The spy pics had me expecting for something uglier.

I too can't really get excited about volvo designs lately. They all look too simlair both inside and out. I've owned two Volvos and like the brand. My first one was a volvo 164 which was pre-boxy volvos and beautiful design if you ask me, and then I still own a 240 which is a good car too.

I don't like the rear very much of this wagon though, the lights look weird.

A new 3.2 liters turbocharge engine with 285hp is coming. Hopefully we'll see a V70 V8 in the future.

Volvo have made a huge step forward when it comes to design. I also like the interior. Just one bad thing with it.... the back, don't like it at all, why VOLVO?

It's a refreshing design. Just like the S80, it is attractive in a Volvo sort of way, just like how a VW would be appealing to me. Not too flashy and yet it conveys a sense of modernity and revitalisation. I say, good job Volvo!

great improvement for volvo! it has a very nice sport look that volvo lucked and the interior is also nice, even though its almost identical to the S80 one!

Well it looks like a facelift not a new car. I guess it's the same sausage different lenghts philosophy again... From a distance you propably won't see the difference between this and the V50. Any idea if this is now more a wagon version of S80 rather than S60?

It's the same also for XC90 (at least in Finland)...

It's a very nice looking design but I don't see them attracting new customers with this design though and that is where their problem is.
