Re: FIRST OFFICIAL PIC!!! The new AUDI A4

Wow, sorry Audi fans, but this is way over the edge for me... If this is considered to be a totally new model, then i can't see why it is. I think that they didn't change almost anything apart from the front lights and bumper and the rear styling.

I know that you will kill me for saying this, but now Audi's line-up are of the same car with different proportions. I can't see why there are not any major changes.. This is just a very minor facelift IMO...

On the other hand, i don't say that the A4 (all of them) is a bad car. My problem is the fact that they are all almost the same. Not any sugnificant difference between the various generations... I still think the A4 is a great car, but i can't see why they didn't take a full step further, than only a 1/3 of it....

Re: FIRST OFFICIAL PIC!!! The new AUDI A4

Oh no, first C-class and now A4. BMW better give the next 3-series adjustable dampers :t-banghea

The A4 also gets Audi’s speed-sensitive dynamic steering and fully adjustable damping control of the shock-absorbers.

And the interior looks heavenly!:angel2:

Re: FIRST OFFICIAL PIC!!! The new AUDI A4

I guess it's all over. This seem to be it. might nightmare has been turned into reality. The worst scenario for many here was that the new A4 would be an A5 clone. Audi went on even lower level and turned the new A4 into a refreshed B7.

I A5 is much prettier and if I was an RS4 owner I wouldn't be so worried about my car looking dated when this car hits the show room floor. I was really expecting something sexy like the TT/A5.

Then again I still have to gorgeous and perfect C-class to stare at.

Re: FIRST OFFICIAL PIC!!! The new AUDI A4

Only thing I dont like about the interior, is the steering wheel. I dont like the design.

and I must repeat myself, the rear is as hot as J. Lopez butt :usa7uh:

I'm not thanking you for your post, it's just that your thanks total was 666!:usa7uh:

Re: FIRST OFFICIAL PIC!!! The new AUDI A4

Basicly a A5ised old A4, well designed but borring, the front light are too much tortured and the interior remains the same with this ugly central console & dashboard.

Re: FIRST OFFICIAL PIC!!! The new AUDI A4

I don't know why everyone i so disappointed about this car. Everyone loves the A5, and this is just like an A5 with four-doors with some changes in the headlights and tail lamps. I think it looks better and way more aggressive than the B7 A4. The rear lights also look tons better than on the B7. The interior also looks much more updated and nice than the old one.

The headlights might look very plain at first site...but when you get INTO the headlights, all those curves look great. Also, the Daytime Running Lights look so sleek and sexy.

Re: FIRST OFFICIAL PIC!!! The new AUDI A4

I stand by what I said before: nose is compact and clean. Very nice indeed.

The way they implemented the LED lamps is superb.

Notably A5 inspired, but it still has it's own character which seperates it from the A5.

There's no surprise that it's more or less an A5 interior, but I haven't any complaints. Top notch, much prefer it to the interior in that of the 3er or C-Class.

Re: FIRST OFFICIAL PIC!!! The new AUDI A4

I love the interior. The driver oriented cockpit looks great. Its also in line with the A5 and A6 interiors. Outisde, I am a bit disappointed. It doesn't look like a new car but just a B7 with new tail lights. I wish they gave it a different look and truly created a new A4.

This is where BMW stands out in my opinion. The E90 is completely different from the E46.

Re: FIRST OFFICIAL PIC!!! The new AUDI A4

Good find Richboy... so it is official after all.

I'm surprised at how conservative Audi have gone with this attractive yet evolutionary B8. The front lights, despite sporting some gadget factor day-time LED detailing, are quite small and non-descript.

The rear is very sexy.

I do feel that for its intended market and current, loyal customer base the A4 is sensibly styled (remember, these are "cooking" bottom-rung fleet models we're looking at...) to retain current fans and just progressive enough to lure fans of the other two marques to the Audi stable.

...interesting how they didn't adopt the swoopy s-curves of the A5's swage line / sheetmetal crease?!

Notice also that the first pics we're seeing from Audi (front and rear 3/4 views) accentuate the truncated front overhang and elongate the wheelbase. An indication, perhaps, at where Audi have been feeling a little self-concious in the styling stakes? I am certain that Audi have retained the longitudinally mounted FWD layout, but I am curious to see what they've done to move the engines further back in the engine bay. Assymetrical front-diff-ahead-of-clutch layout as per A/S5 again?

The interior, whilst of unquestionable quality and integrity, leaves me - as it did with the A5 - unmoved and uninspired. It lacks sportiness in my opinion.

Re: FIRST OFFICIAL PIC!!! The new AUDI A4

it's decent, but not aggressive enough.

Come on...this is already way aggressive for a base A4. People on another car site said that the original Red A4 pic was TOO aggressive and disregarded it as a fake.

Plus, if you aren't satisfied with the aggressivesness, the S-line package will do. Or even better yet, the S4/RS4.

Re: FIRST OFFICIAL PIC!!! The new AUDI A4

Leave the aggression to the S and RS4! I was astonished with the difference between the B7 A4 when compared to the S/RS4, I think will be equally surprised!:)

Re: FIRST OFFICIAL PIC!!! The new AUDI A4

the headlights look too much like the ones on the R8 ... especially the daytime running lights :eusa_thin

Hey, that isn't a bad thing. It seems like the inside of the headlights look like the whole headlight of the R8...However, the casing of the A4's lights makes it look different than the R8's. But, the DRL definitely look like the R8's.

Re: FIRST OFFICIAL PIC!!! The new AUDI A4

Just bump an S5 front bumper on the B7 and it will look like a B8.

Re: FIRST OFFICIAL PIC!!! The new AUDI A4

What this new car does have is a wider, more planted stance on the road. It's lower and less tippy-toe than its B7 predecessor.

The cool thing with this new car is you get that S-Line look standard with the new model, so I can only imagine that sportier derivatives are going to look very good indeed.

If one considers the detail styling elements in isolation one could say that the design borders on facelift-level improvement. I tend to think that, holistically, the new car has a more purposeful and dynamic demeanour compared with the car it replaces. I think an ordinary A4 1.8T is going to be bonkers good value for money.
