Official: New Alfa Romeo Mi.To

Mi.To name is ridiculous & pure stupid.

Not only in English & French pronunciation ... Also some Slavic languages are problematic.

Mito (accusative case) = bribe.

I drive Alfa Mi.to = I drive Alfa bribe.

****

Same case with eg. Ford Kuga. Kuga = plague in many Slavic languages.

****

Or Seat in English-spoken markets ... Where some drivers drive - seats. :D

****

In some cases marketing departments just fail completely when model nomenclature is in question. :t-crazy2:

Mi.To sounds really stupid. Why not use the name Junior or at least Furiosa which btw was chosen by car magazine readers from all over Europe?:t-crazy2:

Alfa Romeo Mada.Faka would be even more debatable, and producing even more publicity. :D

Btw, what was wrong with Furiosa - the name was chosen by automobile enthusiasts across Europe?

:t-hands:

Btw, the car looks great - it's a mini 8C. :usa7uh:

hahaha

I agree Furiosa is not a bad name but Mi.To is so much more easier to say, it's catchy and suits the car's cute and trendy design very well. Kind of like Nintendo Wiiiiiiii! Remember that they want to sell this car like biscuits so the name has to trigger curiosity. Furiosa would suit a larger car like a Z4 and TT competitor.

Preview: 2010 Alfa Romeo Mi.To cabrio

Alfa Romeo’s new Mi.To hatch was only unveiled last week but already attention has turned to a rumored new cabrio variant. Pictured here is an artist’s impression of the droptop that’s tipped to go on sale in the first half of next year, just in time for the northern summer.

The car’s compact size and low cost means it’ll make do with a manual folding soft-top and will be limited to carrying just two adults (the back seats are only for small children). Slightly revised styling will most likely be handled by one of Italy’s famed design houses but thankfully most of the lines from the stylish hardtop appear to carry over untouched.
Expect to see the same engine lineup as found in the hatch. This means there will be a range of engine options starting with a base 95hp 1.4L petrol model, followed by a turbocharged Multiair 1.4L unit and 1.6L turbodiesel developing 140hp and 120hp respectively. A performance GTA model could also be launched, which could get a high-output 1.8L turbo petrol engine cranking out 230hp through Alfa’s Q2 FWD torque vectoring system.

It's a sexy car, no doubt... But to take the throne from an icon like MINI, no way.

Why didn't Alfa evoke some nostalgia and call it the Junior again?

It won't dethrone the MINI but will steal serious sales no doubt especially when people are tired now from MINI style and wants somthing fresh in that segment.

Alfa Romeo Mi.To First Interior Shots Revealed

http://www.worldcarfans.com/9080229...-furiosa-latest-spy-photos-plus-interior-shot
Mi.To, baby Alfa by all means. Now we reveal the first complete, undisguised, interior dash pictures of this supposed-MINI slayer, another one from the Fiat Group after the 500. Shots we first showed of spied interior were not too far off the mark at all apart from the completely hidden centre console as well as the cloth seats. The car has shares a lot of its inside looks with bigger Alfas, and would be quite difficult not to recognise as an Alfa from a short glance.

As a miniature Alfa – not by much of course – Mi.To sports two doors that make it look like a roadster, but is actually a coupe. Not sure exactly how much legroom is in there yet but we do expect a comparable figure to its chief rivals. A major attraction to the Mi.To will be the Ferrari-style manettino system that regulates and harmonises settings for such things as damping and so on. Reports suggest it will be standard in the Mi.To, a car expected to fetch a minimum of €20,000 each at the dealers’.

Way fuzzy and generic for my taste. This could be the interior of a Kia, Mazda or Toyota. I had anticipated something more Italian and less cluttered.

Well i hope u didn't expect a 8C interior in car with that price,i think the interior is pretty suited the segment it's in.

That's exactly the problem here, it's too generic in relation to the hot exterior.

Damn, that is one ugly looking car. The interior in particular :eusa_doh:
I don't usually see a car that looks so surprised......
