God please no!! I accept that the X class will be a commercial car, MB did the minimal modification to sell a dressed Navara, but this would disgrace the AMG name

Actually mate the truth is the other way around ...When I joined this great forum the fortuner was launched in SA the first one and I was lucky to get my hands on a white one 4X4 and that time I made my name fortuner so I actually copied Toyota..

Anywyas the was the shortest I had a car lol was just not my cup of tea...I kept it like 4 weeks and their was a huge demand I eventually sold it for a profit of 15 thousand rands to a friend in limpopo..

Like the Navara (Frontier) the X-class also lacks a telescopic steering column. That sucks.

Yes, but like the Navara, the steering in the X-class is only height adjustable, not height and reach.

I can't say I am disappointed with this truck, because I knew all along that it would be based on the Nissan Navara so I wasn't expecting much. One had to be really naive to think that it would be the "Mercedes of trucks".

Btw, will Mercedes launch an SUV based on the X-class? Nissan is about to launch their new Navara based Paladin SUV and I was wondering if Mercedes is going to follow suit and launch a GLX-Class.

Doubtful as no new projects were announced, and the customary Carlos-Dieter IAA press conference was put on hold.
