Oh boy, the old one does show how effortless it is in comparison here, though. I still wish M-B put more concentration into maturity, and class, i.e not relying only on decoration and ornamentation (cheap thrills, amateur approach) in some of their design elements, but I'm still loving the R231 at the moment now, and I don't think it's as overly decorated or ornamented as some other new M-B's.
Also, I knew I noticed a relatively upright A-Pillar, mostly noticeable when the roof is down. You can see here that the R230 has a sleeker windshield, and the R231 goes more upright. This is in contrast with constant trends to continuously further rake windshields. Is this M-B going against the grain on purpose, to harken back their further back legendary SL's with the more upright A-Pillars, or is it something that they had to do in terms of functionality?
