Duh.....EVO its not a sports car. Jesus.

They were hoping that the weight reduction would bring it slightly closer to being a part time sports car. This clearly shows that there is a need for a baby SLS.

In all honesty and IMO, M-B does LED way more stylish and better looking that Audi. Yet in the end as much as I like it and as with the A8 it can be a bit to heavy and overdone. Still the SL's Eagle Eye does something good for my visual senses.

"Lack ultimate sports car feel" :eusa_doh: Stupid bloody comment! Was my first thought.

K-A hasn't read it yet! Good thing because he will probably have a fit!:D

:t-cheers:

Edit: In the first paragraph they themselves say:
"The SL successors quickly established themselves...wafty performance and boulevard-friendly chassis settings"

Now that's a SL;)

Then they were looking for the wrong thing. I'm all for EVO in general, but this rancid shyte about everything being a sports car is tired. The SL is perfection for its inteneded market segment, a luxury GT, not a sports car. Nothing in this class is more complete or more accomplished. Better looking cars, yes.

Well SL does stand for Sport Light and the luxury GT cruiser role is for the CL, but yeah Evo will also be looking at cars through the eyes for Michael Schumacher.

True, but it hasn't been that for years and they know this. They knew it before they drove it.

Just read a C&D article on it. Every mag seems to trash the looks for whatever reasons.

Excerpt:

"The new SL is quicker, lighter, and more agile, but not better looking.

.... What is not so magical, at least to our eyes, is the way this thing looks. It's ironic that a car that moves this gracefully should look so ungainly. The rear end is fattened for cargo, the front end is high and bluff for pedestrian safety, and the grille and the headlamps sit on distinctly different planes. When we ribbed a Mercedes employee that the car looks like its front and back ends were designed by two different people, he fixed a dead-eyed gaze on us and held up not two but three fingers. Guess $106,375 doesn't buy beauty anymore."

Yeah that front end is hard to love, but on the AMG models it looks so much better.

True story. Tonight I had a dream about a black SL on an empty parking lot. Its weird and the reason I remember is that I woke up after the dream. Crazy.

In the words of Capt. Jack Sparrow, "You need to find yourself a girl mate". :D

The SL is simply great technically. The looks are it's only problem tho :)
Wolfgang, do you know if the color on the SL65 is the same as the one on the SL63 - Cavansitblau ?
If it's the same color then there's only one last hesitation... black or blue ? :)
