I went for a modest, taxi spec, and ended with a price of 138.602 euros. :biggrin.doodle::biggrin.doodle::biggrin.doodle:

If I were to include 3D screen in front of the driver, and Augmented reality HUD - it would be additional 4500 euros.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find Kurzer S Class, only long one.

I could have sworn we already saw a picture of the center console in wood?? Or was it just carbon fiber??

I think someone posted a picture of a matte black center console. This would be strange since there is not a matte black trim offered unless that is the open pore wood shown.

Huge mistake. I can’t believe that. That center console area and that raised window switch area should be available in wood also. Big mistake.

The S-class cabin would look perfect if the center console and door switch surrounds would match the wood/carbon trim on the dash. They made the same mistake as when the E-class was introduced with the center console with this horrible shiny black piano wood/plastic. I bet after 6 months they will bring out options to have the center console in matching wood/carbon trim.

They will probable make the change to the console mid-life. Is that not what happen with the W221? I wonder why they limit the choices of trim. I guess you cannot please everyone, but the burl walnut has been around forever which is fine but I would like other choices of brown without the "pimp" stripes.

The piano black panel makes the illusion that the central screen flows to the armrest. Putting other type of wood would disrupt the esthetic, because the bezels of the screen will contrast with the surrounding wood.

That's probably Mercedes' train of thought as well. However, I think the carbon fiber version, where the flow isn't there, looks way better. So bring in the wood on the center console and the interior is complete.

It was a dark photo that had been lightened in Photoshop. The "opening" of the shadows creates this effect that resembles a matt black surface.

Just carbon fiber. I've been keeping close to this trim issue to understand their strategy over the last month. They're using improved coatings for this trim to resist scratches, I do know that. I know they've tried wood trim on the center console but cannot get an answer if we should actually expect it to be offered. This reminds me of when they were trying silks on the W222 and I couldn't get a straight answer as to whether it passed durability testing (it didn't).

@BrokLaser anyone know how to post a photo like that of Antracite in the other productions?

I was talking to a friend working in Merc dealership in Dubai who happens to see the 223 prototype of Maybach last day, even though exterior was fully camouflaged he could see inside of the car. They were stopped from clicking pic of both ext & interior, however he said it felt longer than present Maybach and interior garnishing is more elegant than regular S-class. He was hesitating to talk more as they have to keep their protocol.

Maybach will probably have the plastic center console as well. I don't understand the pre-occupation with the Maybach. It is only a guess, but I suspect most of us would be interested in purchasing the non-Maybach version of S Class. So why do we care what they put in the Maybach?

Rolf, how does that price compare to a comparable W222? I am trying to determine expected price in US.

I kinda like this S500 AMG line I chose with 21inch rims, anthracite blue metallic, macchiato beige nappa interior with burr walnut glossy brown wood. Total price with the different options 134,250Euros.

Absolutely stunning combination

The interior trim options are spectacular but this car's dash has one glaring problem, that floating screen for the driver's instruments just looks - frankly - tacked on.
That's exactly what I kept on thinking after looking at all the recent pictures of the interior. I don't understand why they did such a "simple" integration. It looks like an afterthought, as if they wanted to go without driver's instruments (just use HUD), but finally added it.
