They did the same with the previous gen S65. As @sako97, it does seem Mercedes will be pricing and positioning this car in the place of the previous S65.
Yeah I think you all are right. The old S65 wheels are not a coincidence imo.

It’s the Electric Age. The car is becoming an appliance.
Also: a mere vehicle for information capital. Tech companies project that the market for 'in-car entertainment' will average $300 per month per vehicle very soon. That's a massive market, and, of course, not necessarily performance, design or quality-oriented,

What does "in-car entertainment" encompass?
I'm quoting from memory from an article I read months ago, but basically, all the various apps, services, subscriptions, and media products available for purchase on the screens inside a moving car. The premise is that with more autonomous self-driving machines comes the possibility of passengers needing hours of entertainment.

I don't know how to take it, I can't stop thinking that they are kidding me....

In his "Ubik," Philip K. Dick imagines a world in which you must pay your doorknob a dollar every time you want to enter your own home. And if you don't, it will call you a louse and bum every time. BMW is already asking customers to pay for warming their bums; I can't imagine we're that far off from a car clock that clocks your usage of the clock ;)

Leaving things aside, the S is an exuberant and very beautiful machine, both are at the top, the rest is a matter of taste.

Need to see the S63 in either gloss black or Designo Mystic Blue.
Black rims and grille are the way to go (I usually hate black wheels but they are the better option here).
I'm not a huge fan of the panamericana grille but it does look like a proper AMG with it.
I have to say I really like the whole package.

The side profile is exquisite. Well done Mercedes for pulling off elegance and aggression all in one go.
