like always S for SUPERLATIVE
sadly i'm afraid there is some crticial let downs in a couple of areas of design, i'm so sorry to say, because i never thought i would criticize an S-class, other than that let me tell you for the most part the new king of cars does live to expectations for being the undisputed best car in the world true to S-class tradition.
firstly the headlamps top corners are way too downgrade for this car, they are almost 100% taken from the new A/CLA/CLS even hints of W204 could be seen
the awful shutline joining the front bumper to the front fender, seen below the front headlamps, is too cheap for this car, that is A/B/C/E class material.
the front wing fenders which are dangerously like the ones on the A/CLA/CLS
then there's the dropping line which is again identical to A/CLA/CLS,
the rear lights although beautiful of course, they however are too much like the W204/C216,
STILL NOT 100% ANTI WEDGE!!!!,
greenhouse shape similar to W221
headlamps and tailamps seems like they're taken directly from C216.
imo the reaction so far is best described LUKEWARM, however given time the design should fit together more nicely, maybe need more time to soak the design?
the interior on the other hand has won me over hands down, simply s-class style, the best possible luxury ambience, the only funny thing is the issue of four vents which many consider to be copies from RR/BENTLEY, however that aside the interior is everything expected of S-class, classicly elegant, futuristic, graceful, luxurious....the list goes on.
