S-Class (W222/C217/A217) [Official] Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222)

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class. Body styles: W222 (standard), V222 (long), X222 (limousine, Mercedes-Maybach), VV222 (pullman), C127 (coupé), A217 (convertible). Predecessor: S-Class (W221). Successor: S-Class (W223). Production: 2013–2020.
Mercedes shouldn't slap the Maybach badge on the W222 S-Class. The name is dead and no longer mean anything. The Maybach was just a comfy office chair on steroids. Lacking in character it wasn't much more than a very comfy passenger car. Legacy-wise it isn't a classic but what it did do is spur the crop of amazing top-of-the-range reclining seats thats are now available in the S-Class, 7-Series and A8. Forget the Mulsanne or a Phantom for a second. A LWB version of the W222 with reclining rear seats is the ultimate luxury car. It's super comfy but yet discrete enough not to draw too much attention. Unless you are Lebron James and really need 100cm of extra leg room, there is little more an S600 pullman could offer.

I just saw the S 600 at the show. The interior is head and shoulders above the S550 and S63 - the latter two quite literally appear to be a whole model-line lower in the sense of occasion their respective interiors represent. The diamond-pattern, even where not exclusive to the S 600 (as in the dash area) is simply more three-dimensional, with real stitching and thick padding. The effect is, like I said, a $100k difference in value perception.

It is sad to think that the S 600 is otherwise technically inferior (save for the MBC) to the excellent S 63 (AWD, more power).

Does anyone know when the Designo leather and color options will become available? They have beautiful diamond stiching.

so the fastest is still the 63 4m, because of the best traction-thats logical.

but im surprised about the acceleration of the 600 and 65 - just 0,2 s difference, but 100 more horsepower (??) -> so now or the 600 is realy fast or the 65 is quite slow for its power...

if somebody would ask me, i woul say take the s500 4matic - it has still only 4.8s 0-100, but is a LOT cheaper, you get him a nice AMG trim, maybe some BRABUS chasis or exhaust system and its stil a lot cheaper then the 63 or specialy the 65
