If you order the S63 or S65 the wheels in the last two photos are the ones to get.
Thay are smoking hotter than hell!

Where is that bow-down and stay down smiley.

Saw my first S and to be specific an S400 hybrid on the public road.. what a commanding stance.

Thats what ive been wondering for ages now.. take that bow down back..and that puking smiley.. the new ones suck..

Yes the reverse sloping line is brilliant. It give the car a very solid stance and flamboyance. Beautiful car this W222 is. Looks good in every color. Hope to see more interior trims than black and off-white or full black. I am liking W222 interior even more than RR Ghost. I haven't been this excited about my favorite car brand since ...ah for more than a decade. W220 was pretty but with quality glitches and plasticky interior for the S. W221 was two-faced, beautiful in LWB form and ill proprtioned in SWB imo. The last really good E was the W124. And with all the quality issues, the Chrysler thing, and less than classic styling imo, was saddening for me as the Benz fan. However things are moving in the right direction. The new C also look very nice with sport grill and amazing interior. And the S concept coupe and now the Gran Turismo Vision are just WoW! Thanks to the MB design team and of course Gorden Wagener. Now give us a real S Mercedes-Maybach that is properly differentiated.

For some time interesting special versions which they will get will certainly be published from the car the maximum potential what isn't changing the fact that W222 is a beautiful car.

There has been some conjecture as to what platform is the new S Class based on, is it on an the new MRA architecture or on a modified version of the W221 platform. It appears that the new S Class is not based on the new MRA architecture but is instead based on a modified W221 platform. The reason being that in the RHD markets the W222 is only available in RWD and AWD is not available. With the MRA architecture vehicles are available in AWD versions for the LHD and the RHD markets for example the upcoming GLK.

Furthermore here is a review of the new S Class which states:

"All non-AMG variants use Mercedes’ own 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission to drive (in right-hand drive versions) the rear wheels only. Although all-wheel drive 4MATIC versions of standard and AMG S-Class models are offered in left-hand drive markets, that option will not be available Down Under until an all-new S-Class platform is produced… Don’t hold your breath..."

Again not saying that it is good or bad that it is not based on the new MRA, just clarifying some confusion as to exactly what platform it is based on.

My dealer tries to keep me happy while waiting on the Modellyear 2015 W222. every once in a while he let's me drive the W222. This weekend I had a nice black one to drive. This is the third one (all seperate cars) I drive and I must say that mine initial enthousiasm is tempered. The last two cars produced some strange noises in the dashboard and center console. The one I had this weekend (with MBC) had a non-comfortable ride on pottholes and "short" bumps/holes on the road. Also the panoramic sunroof produced noises that shouldn't be there.

What's the exeperience on these points of members allready owning? Christian S and 714 Merc?

I dont have MBC or pano sunroof, but no strange noises anywhere....that sounds weird indeed...., we are very lucky so far with the car, 100x times better experience than the first months with w221 in 2005, that was a continous problem....:ROFLMAO:

Nothing like that so far either with dash and pano... Ride seems smooth enough too... But, still barely @ 500km driven...
I have the chauffeur option, with the seat all the way up, the front passenger seat does shake quite a bit on bumpy roads... Maybe could be a problem down the line?

Thanks 714 Merc.
The cars I've driven had circa 500 km up to 3.500 km in total. The noises from the dash sounded like the ones you'd be expecting after more than 100.000 miles. Curious though. We'll see. Would be obliged if you keep us informed about quality aspects like the ones I've mentioned.
