S-Class (W222/C217/A217) [Official] Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet (A217)

The Mercedes-Benz W222 is the sixth generation of the Mercedes Benz S-Class. Body styles: W222 (standard), V222 (long), X222 (limousine, Mercedes-Maybach), VV222 (pullman), C127 (coupé), A217 (convertible). Predecessor: S-Class (W221). Successor: S-Class (W223). Production: 2013–2020.
Both have Magic body control, so unless they improved that, the ride quality is essentially the same. Maybe it's the exhaust?, but the S600 sounds very close to the 65 nowadays, just without rev matching noises and some exhaust backfire/crackles. Furthermore, it's the same V12 with 630bhp.

This is an old comment, but just because they both have MBC doesn't necessarily mean they ride similarly. I'd imagine the AMG S65 is still tuned more firmly all around.

Wow. This car looks fantastic. It would be great to see another pics. :)

There are some interesting S65 cabrios coming to the states for once. There's still a tendency to load dealerships 040 black/black, but it's quickly turning into overload the market with Diamond white. The inventory safe combinations...

A fellow in my neighborhood has a selenit metallic grey C217 S-Class Cabriolet. An S500 with the AMG Package, 20" brushed silver multispoke alloys, red leather and top. Absolutely breathtaking.

Lunar Blue with Saddle leather - very nice.

When I saw the window sticker, all I could do is laugh. They said screw it, let's charge exactly $100k more than the S65 cabrio and not give any technical explanation why. MY2017 rather 2018 because it was delayed so long; no facelift features.

Worst badge engineer offender by MB - exclusivity is not an adequate excuse when the surcharge is this flagrant.

I just figured out why they pushed back the 2018 Cabrios, they want to make sure they sell all of these first lol. NO WAY would you buy this over a facelifted 2018 S63 or S65 Cabriolet and MBUSA knows it. WOW.

This car was poorly timed IMO and they should have given it traditional grille. That would have made it something to treasure. Still though it's pretty, but not worth 335K.

New RR Dawn, GTC4, F12, Vanquish S cabrio money. Actually most of them could be had for less. Maybe MB will learn a lesson with this one and better execute the next iteration.

I could imagine the collective sigh sales associates had when they finally reached showrooms. The S65 cabrio was already a hard sell.. at a $80-100k cheaper price point.

The whole "all units accounted for" gibberish from last year's LA auto show was of course not true; most units are on showroom floors from dealership allocations.

Have to say though the blue one looks extremely elegant

I love my Lunar Blue one so much I’m sticking with that color for my 2018 S63 Cabriolet.

Both blues fit their respective models IMO. Is the top blue on the S650?

Has anyone seen the US DOG for the 2018 S63 Coupe/Cabriolet? I’m dyin’ here wanting specifics on the options.

^ Says this particular Mercedes-Maybach S 650 Cabrio engine may require an extra 300 ml of oil, Giannis. :)

That's an absolutely sickening price. Expect to find it one on eBay Motors for $89,000 in three years.

Vanquish S Volante or upcoming Bentley Continental GTC price proximity ? Really ?

As much as I can appreciate the aesthetic of the "standard AMG package devoid of matte paint & black rims" C217 cabriolet , few automobiles scream vulgar ostentation more loudly than these Maybach-spec cars.
