Thanks and I was not being facetious, I just wanted to get your view point on it cause it looked like for a while the argument on the other side was the substance doesn't matter and it was all about the brand/image. But looks like, that is after all, not the case and you do think substance matters? (If I am wrong and you still think substance doesn't matter, ignore the rest of the post). He asked, so I responded. If he's just being facetious then so be it.
And I agree mostly on the substance itself - G class offers a competitive off road ability, with luxurious appointments (though ride/refinement itself from my own experience leaves much to be desired), in a tough looking utilitarian looking design. The one aspect, IMO, you missed is power, as can be seen from the fact G63 is by far the best seller. And this combination of - off roadability, luxury, toughness, power appeals to the survivalist in most of us, including me.
All this just to point out that substance does matter, and not just brand/image, at least not in the long run. So should G not measure up in these areas against the competition, the brand/image will eventually suffer. I will leave how the electric version measures up or not unsaid to avoid triggering anyone.
Hope that clears it up.
