EQS (V297) [Official] Mercedes-Benz EQS

So it's not poor panel alignment, which just would not make sense for an S product out of the new factory, but actually an outcome of the aerodynamic sealing work and possibly related to the installation of the Hepa filter as well.

Yep, that’s the way I see it as well. Not sure about the HEPA filter remark though

There is no proof that is what it is, but if that is true they still need to find a way to do it better. This is Mercedes-Benz we're talking about and you can't tell me that big gaping cracks/gaps in the bodywork is better for aerodynamics and aesthetically it's terrible. There is no way that big gap behind the headlight where it meets the fender is the result of a rubber seal on the non AMG EQ models. You can rubber seal it after you mount the body panels much closer than that. The AMG EQS seems to fit together better:

This color tries it's best to make the EQS look good. This is probably the best the EQS is ever going to look IMO.

...that leaves me concluding that the EQS actually does look like a Mercedes-Benz.
I have seen EQS a few times now and while it is sleek. The universal EQ front should have been left out for this flagship and used an interpretation of the classic grille. An LED monobrow is not enough. It makes you wonder when all Mercedes’s are EQ’s that the classic grille becomes history?

Save some flow-fracturing shutlines and the odd proportions of the bodys' architecture, I find nothing particularly offensive about the EQS/EQE exterior design. Some of its' elements are even rather attractive. But in the sum of all details, the EQ sedans will never be "pretty" automobiles. Of course, unit sales success or failure will determine the destiny of the "One Bow" design paradigm. And the recent range test by the Italian source clearly deflates the "range = jelly bean" argument. Were I a segment shopper, the amount of newcomers in the pipeline would prevent me from hastily "pulling the trigger" on any one of the EQ sedans. Some mothers have far prettier babies after all.

Why is seeing those pedestrians so funny? When they get hit it is hysterical.

The EQS in this test wasn´t even running with the most optimal aerodynamic configuration though and the tyre choice was rather suboptimal to be honest. Also they weren´t running in ECO-mode, which is required for the maximum of range in the EQS.

Range on a EV is also very depending on other factors(Besides aerodynamics) like the tyre choice, rims and also very important the amount of equipment on a car. More equipment means more weight and more weight means higher energy consumption, which in return diminishes the range(BTW the MB configurator also updates the WLTP range, if the equipment is changed). Björn Nyland from Norway tested an EQS with a weight of 2760 kg. That is 180 kg more than the standard EQS 580 4Matic.

Well they have arrived at dealers in the USA. The bare bones EQS 450 models are particularly ugly.
