it is precisely what is going to happen. EQS will cannibalise the S-Klasse more than it’s rivals.
It will radically change the traditional S-Klasse concept forever.
Everybody was looking elsewhere unable to comprehend that the actual enemy was within.

My opinion as well.

The EQS is effectively "The Future S-Class" that is available today. Following the initial "testing of the waters" regarding the EQS' exterior design and its' ultimate degree of (potential) customer acceptance, M-B will carry on from there on, tweaking where necessary and perhaps changing the design language a bit more extensively with the new MB.EA-platformed successor. The German luxury segment rivalry (EQS/i7/Audis' production "Grand Sphere" aka A9 eTron) will be fascinating.

looks very sleek in the live drive and I think this colour suits the car it sounds like the EQS smoothness and comfort is even above the S class

This is the basic spec for 106K Euros. Certainly in this colour and interior spec it looks very plain vanilla. The carpets in the pics look cheapish, but hoping in real life they are alot more plusher than this.

This car could have been received much better had it not been for the concept that preceded it. The concept did such a good job of compensating for the native electric design issues like no need/place for a long hood and good dash to front axle distance.

Save the, in my eyes, excessively short bonnet, the EQS Concepts' exterior design was flawless. A shame that it was not accurately translated into the production model.

That actually is attractive. Chrome-line trim and body-coloured side and apron skirts could be very nice as well.

Still, were I a potential customer who is not in a hurry to pull the trigger on an automobile in this segment, I'd certainly wait to see what Audi does with its' absolutely stunning Grand Sphere Concept and how it is translated into production form. It would, however, mean an at least 2 year wait. Perhaps even three.
