It wasn't coincidence. That MB driver knew what they were doing. Probably has his own set of photos. 🤣
I never thought about that actually about the other MB driver. Both cars just happen to be parked inside the BMW Dealership 😯. Mercedes Australia really needs to lift their game, the dealership experience is really lacking behind the competition.

By pure conincidence, we saw this FL E 350 parked next to us, the specifciation is almost identical, including the wheels, which makes for a very interesting comparison.

The shades of silver is slighly different, with the FL E class in high tech silver, while our car is in the more traditional iridium silver.

The high tech silver looks more "bluish" while the iridium silver looks closer to "whitish pure silver"

The difference of the colour is far more obvious in the last photo.

The pre-facelift version is so much better looking.

MBAU became a laughing stock.

Fortunately things look much better in Switzerland.
The only exception is the flagship showroom at MB Brisbane, which is owned and still under the management of LHS Auto...perhaps @Mr. Mercedes knows more than I do. This showroom was supposed to set the example for all other MB showroom to follow, however that has not been the case yet. The Mercedes shorwoom where we purchased our W211 still looks the same as it did 21 years ago.

I guess he’s welcome.

Mopf 350s with the 4 cylinder are rare, I am actually surprised they sold them in Oz.
The Mopf 350 are a rare sight, especially when they are priced at $135,000....

I can only guess it was a desperate attempt by MB Australia to fill in the gap between the E 300 and the E53, and also to give options for customers who are used to driving 6 cylinder E classes. At this price point, the customers should get what they want.

That’s interesting.

They’re rare in Switzerland as well, mostly they choose the 200 or the 450.

The 450 wasn’t offered in Oz?

2 engines, pre Mopf was C43 M276 engine with quieter exhaust but same turbos.

Mopf got the E53 M256 without the E-Turbocharger and with quieter exhaust.

Almost AMG power but with quiet exhaust and soft suspension.

Absolutely delicious.

Unfortunately Mercedes Australia decided to stop offering the E 450 since the FL W213.
Even after the launch of the W214, the E 450 is still not available in the Australian market. Our W213 E 450 was only available for one model year before it was removed as Mercedes Australia shift their marketing strategy towards the AMG line and AMG models.
