Further, i never addressed you or quoted you diretcly, so i guess you are assuming i'm talking directly to you. reading back through the comments, i didn't have your post in mind when i said "Sorry guys."

My reply was to those criticizing the simple design. As a 19 year Mercedes Sales rep and owner, i love the simple design and am ready to get rid of pontoon fenders, over exaggerated dropping lines, etc, which tend to polarize potential buyers (love/hate). Lexus has absolutely alienated tons of buyers with their new quirky styling. I'm very encouraged with the understated, solid shaped Mercedes is putting out right now, and see it more in keeping with the history of the brand.

Couple insights on the e coupe and cab:

- the power domes were a big fight inside the company and they are very proud that the car has them
- silver door knobs standard. One of the features that they spent nights in with finance to make it work
- wheelbase is shorter and so are the overhangs comapred to the E giving the car a different, more athletic look. Also helping is the lower bumper compared to sedan
- First cars with the minimalist design that we have read about already (also in this thread)
- the third window is there because the e coupe has to have a graceful line. Meaning no pillars and very little sheet metal in the roofline. It also has to have a minimum of four windows and a large amount of open space when you roll the windows down. The third window did not fit into the fender and they wanted to have the windows roll down fully. Not like in other cars where you roll down the window half way. All four windows needed to be fully functional.
- The suspension setup gives a bigger spread between sport and comfort than the e limo
- the new gold flake silver color is insanely good looking
- the green paint pictured above has the largest flakes in the e paint lineup giving it that special feeling. Dark at night and very green with bright light
- the rear is the biggest in class (and maybe even bigger than S)
- positioning of all three coupes:
C coupe the bodybuilder. E coupe the gentleman with a six pack. S coupe the athletic business man

After watching a video... all I can say is that Daimler should pay money to fuenfcommasechs - their videos are extremely well made, and very, very informative.They should at least help them with subtitles, so that more people who don't understand German can watch them.
