E-Class (W212/C207/A207) [Official] Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe (C207)

The Mercedes-Benz W212 is the fourth generation of the E-Class range. It is the successor to the W211 E-Class. Body styles: four-door sedan/saloon (W212) and five-door estate/wagon (S212). Coupé and convertible models of the W212 E-Class generation are W204 C-Class based and known as the C207 and A207, replacing the CLK-Class (C209 and A209) coupé and cabriolet. Production: March 2009 – January 2016 (sedan), December 2009 – May 2016 (station wagon).
Is it just me or do Merc's interiors just look better and better these days? My perception is a true return to form, combining rugged solidity, tactile surface texturing and very high levels of perceived quality across all dashboard components. This is a great picture:

... makes you wanna get in an' just touch stuff.

I'd never really be in the market for E Class Coupe (they weren't ever going to call it an ELK now were they?) but I could easily see myself in a new C250 CGI with a manual box and Avantgarde trim. The interior quality and perceived durability would be a major drawcard over competitor models.

Hey Audi, model for model, Merc make better quality interiors in the E Class Coupe, E Class and C-Class now than you do. That's an interesting turnaround...

Night vision, blind assist, etc are available. Where does it say there not available?

Martin, I agree the new interiors show solidity and true form to mb and from what ive read on long term tests (27k miles) on AE and Autocar for the C class they agree saying that the interior was rock solid and not one problem/annoyance. I am pretty certain and hopeful the E sedan and coupe are a class above the C class so hopefully we will expect the same glowing reviews as the C class if not better.

I read in the AMS that some features won't be available in the coupé, but i cant remember which ones...

But the magazine is in the waiting room of my doctor and i get my next immunization today, so i will have a look :)

Hmmm but when i read different online reports i cant find any statement that there are not all security-features available like in the e-class limo...

Where does it say that?? Other than that edmunds article.

Auto Motor und Sport:
Mercedes E-Klasse Coupé: CLK ade - hier kommt das E-Klasse Coupé | News | auto motor und sport

First paragraph:
"Technisch basiert das Coupé auf der achten Generation der Mercedes E-Klasse. Wie die verwandte Limousine glänzt auch das E-Klasse-Coupé mit einem neuen Design, profitiert dabei aber ebenso vom umfassenden Sicherheitspaket und den deutlich gesenkten Verbräuchen der Baureihe."

Translation:
"Technically, the coupé is based on the eighth generation of the Mercedes E-Class. Like the related sedan the E-class coupe shines with a new design and also benefits from the comprehensive safety package and the significantly lower consumption of the series."

EDIT:
There's a guy on motor-talk.de who claims to have worked on the c207 project. He says the e-coupe is based on the c-class and the e-class platform. dunno :t-hands:

Love the silver one!!

^U can barely notice that third window, doesn't bother me one bit:D

Finally with some different interior combos it looks much better...
Coupé of 2009 ? So far, yes it is!

:eusa_clap

^U can barely notice that third window, doesn't bother me one bit:D

it's a small, low-res pic... IRL the pillar is thick as hell and as obvious as a button on the nose...
It does bother me, and not only a bit...

I'm not liking it very much so far. I don't like the proportions, and I don't like the pillar. I love the interior, on the other hand, and not only a bit!

The sedan is thousand times better resolved, for me... But I seem to be in a minority here!:D

We're still up in the air about what this car is based on I see. Interesting. My take is that it is still fundamentally based on the C, but uses E-Class components here and there. There is no mention of Airmatic, just the same dampening system that the C-Class has, that tells the story right there. True E-Class level cars, (E,CLS) have Airmatic on the top V8 models. Wheelbase and other measurements say C-Class based also.

No big deal really as long as Mercedes doesn't try to price it above the E-Class sedan. If anything they'll raise the price here in the U.S. to within a grand or so of the E-Class sedan. If they try to price it way over the E sedan then they've got a problem.

This is a name/marketing/strategy change here with going from CLK to E-Coupe, not a fundamental change in the way the car is built. A true 2-door based on the new E would be CLS priced...like what the 300CE was to the 300E back in the day.

The problem is that these idiots are often known as "car experts" among their circles of family and friends. When someone in their family needs advice, they consult this "idiot" - and what does he tell them?

"Get the Toyota 3.5 V6 because the weak 3.5 V6 Mercedes E350 is incapable of competing with the superior engineering of Toyota!" :t-crazy2:

That's the danger of having such brainwashed idiots around. :(

Well no matter what you say or do, you'll never change their minds.
