Someone has to figure out a way to modify an exclusive grill on the sport package for the E and C.

I quite like how the classic grille was interpreted on the F125! concept few years ago.

SUVs, sports cars and sedans up to a C, should be designed around the MB's sport grille. Ditch the classic grille on the C Class.
E and S should use the modern interpretation of the classic grille (like on the F125). Ditch the sport grille on the E Class.
Maybach should go the way of the Vision 6 concept i.e. similar to the current classic grille.
AMG's should be designed around the 'panamericana' grille.

Whatever they decide on the classic grille, one thing they MUST do - the star should be retractable, period. (Like Spirit of Ecstasy is on the Rolls Royce).

That is what the S650 Maybach Convertible should have looked like.

Sat in the new E-Coupe and Cabriolets today, they truly are a W124 successor.

What a sweet car. Feels like a leap forward even coming from an S-

edit:spelling.

As ure one of the first here to see it in the flesh, what did you think of the interior fit and finish?

Really really nice, I had the last E coupe as an E-500 (only for 6 months) and this is such an improvement. I love the new seats, the fit and finish is S-Class level. There are only a couple areas that have more plastic than the S, which is to be expected.

I'd buy one in a second.

Its a stunning car, for sure one of the best looking 4-seat convertibles in the world.

Thanks for the response, glad to hear it is up there in the build quality stakes..but I don't know why there are some complains about the new E interior in general? Regarding the previous E Coupe, I had a chance to see one recently and that car still oozes top notch quality too, solid switchgear and plush materials all round(y)

I'm sure Luke is referring to a very highly specified vehicle. The vehicles that people like myself have been complaining about in terms of finish are the lower specified vehicles.

In terms of build quality several other members and myself have noted that the new interiors feel less solid than the previous generation regardless of the level of finish. This has also been raised by some magazines.

Certainly there is no comparison between this generation and the previous generation in terms of 'style'.

I do know what you're talking about, but I think this 'hollow' feeling has more to do with weight savings. Doors, door handles etc ? Is that what you mean ? It's the same in the S though.
