This new one lacks the clean and elegance apparence of the one it replaced imo.

The details are indeed more wrought and there is certainly more 3 dimensionality to the sheet metal, but the 'lines' (shoot me I sound like KA!) are just as clean and flowing.

I would even say the nose is one of the things I like the most of the design.

HOH shouldn't you be making an Audi Nanuk vs. BMW i8 vs. Mercedes S-coupe Concept thread? ;)

Oh my god....its a BIG DISAPOINTMENT from me!

1.) The front: its almost the SAME as in te CLA concept! (is now Daimler becoming the second Audi where all models looking the same ?!?)
2.) The tail is almost a literal copy of the Renault Laguna Coupe ... shame!
Rear wing, c-pillar, rear side glass, form of side windows, rear lights - I dont know what our Robert Lesnik thought, but certainly this is a very very bad product, it is like a car that has already been 10 years on the market!

I like that this model no longer looks like a two-door sedan. I am still split about this design, but will wait to see it in production clothes. I can tell where the "bling" will be when the S 65 Coupe debuts (chrome finish replacing carbon pretty much everywhere, based on sedan spy pics).

The rear for me doesn't look like an MB right now, but other than that, I like it... I hope the interior layout like the doorpanels and how the instrument cluster pops out, remains different in production...

Sorry my friend, but the tail has nothing to do with Laguna. Please look again.

Khm.... realy ?! .. :D
in addition to all these similarities: even opening of the tailgate is identical, even the logo is at same place

Oh shut the full cup - will you look at that?!? First time I've ever fallen for Merc's big coop. Zounds! A-Team aside, Mercedes Benz is on fire!

Well it may have similarities but outside Europe we don't know what a Laguna is :D

I'm surprised by the design. It's very macho and flamboyant. It really is a different approach than the s coupes prior....

The taillights are great and before everyone jumps on the "they look like an Audi" just remember mb also used to make all cars with rectangle taillights :)
