Mercedes is on it for real. I have never wanted a regular C-Class so much, or a S-Class for that matter. When the I6s and the 9G go into this car in a couple of years, perfection.

Mercedes C450 AMG to debut in Detroit

Entry-level performance line will battle Audi S & BMW M Performance models
According to a recent report, Mercedes will introduce the C450 AMG at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Designed to slot between the C400 and C63 AMG, the C450 AMG will be the first of a series performance models that don't receive the full AMG treatment. As a result, the car will only feature minor styling changes and an upgraded engine that doesn't offer the same performance as full-fledged AMG derivatives. In the case of the C450 AMG, it is expected to be an upgraded twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine that develops approximately 367 bhp (274 kW).

The entry-level performance line is expected to expand over the years and eventually include versions of the CLA-, E- and GLK-Class.

^ That is great news if true. A C450 would be perfect. I hope it comes in RWD with 9G, not mandatory AWD with the old 7G box.

Can we get a CLA300 with a 270 hp version of the 2L I 4 please? GLK450 is given. The E I'm not so sure an E400 and E450 makes sense. In the E since the E550 is gone, the uplevel car should have been the E450 from the start IMO.

Does anyone know what that square flap looking thing is on the bumper? Much appreciated.

I do not think the 450 and 45 engines have anything in common. One is a v6 and the other is an i4.

And your point is?

"The entry-level performance line is expected to expand over the years and eventually include versions of the CLA-, E- and GLK-Class."

My point is that the CLA is already offered as CLA45 amg, I just made a clarification to the post that said is to be included over the years.

You missed the point of the entire article, that is why Betty was asking you what your point was.

The article is talking about AMG Sport models being added to those classes, not full fledged AMG cars. There is no CLA model in between the basic models and the full on AMG model, that is where the AMG Sport model would come in at.

It went on sale here yesterday....Sept's sales number should be interesting.

I was pointing the fact that the car is offered with a 2.0 engine that produces 360 hp, which seems pretty impressive to me, 360 hp from a 2.0 engine comparing to the 367hp of the 3.0 liter v6.

I'sorry if I drifted away from the specifics of the original post, but it was only as an informative post on my behalf, by no means did I implied that the original poster was not informed properly.

Anyway I was just sharing something that I believe it was interesting.

Why so late to the states? It's been in South Africa for 2 or 3 months. Could it be due to the fact that we manufacture the C-Class here?

Actually since the US have received the C300 and C400 models only (so far), I believe that they are the first recipient country in the world for these two new models. If they would have offered the current range there as reflected in SA model range, they most certainly would have received it before us!

I guess they wanted to make sure they sold down enough for the W204 models and to give the plant time to get up to speed here.

True, but the way the power is delivered will be much smoother with the V6, and be a different experience because of that.

Does anyone know if the command online system has the same Bluetooth function as the audio 20 system? Because Bluetooth is not mentioned inCommand online's details
