MB didn't apparently didn't want to colocate it in the fuel flap. The plug is a bit recessed, which may help in a rear ending? :)

Hi, I just signed up, because I have a question. I ordered an AMG line, but am not sure which chassis to choose.

I am thinking about:
- Lowered Comfort Suspension
- Sports Suspension

I have driven the Lowered Comfort Suspension (which drove great) but now am wondering how stiff the Sport Suspension will be. Perhaps someone else has experience with that?
In comparison, before this car I owned a Golf 6 GTD (17") which also had the Sport Suspension, but due the 17 inch wheels was not to harsh on the ride.

Not to take away from the awesome C450 shots above but I went to the South African launch of the W205 C-Class. I drove it, learned more about it, tested the different safety features, saw in which direction Mercedes is going and some interesting design language explanations. Once I digest it all, I'll upload the videos I captured and write a piece all on the C-Class in the next few days.

All I can say is, the new C-Class is on another level, attention to detail coupled with the technology feels like it has skipped a generation and it really shows off the forward thinking by Mercedes. The Air suspension even with the runflat tyres ensure for a smooth ride and even with the base models, it doesn't take away from what an amazing car this is. Some didn't like the "ipad type screen" but in real life it flows and looks much better than in any image.

More coming soon on this :)

New (W205) C Class order placed by New Benz customer - and a Euro Delivery question

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and to Mercedes-Benz. I have wanted to break in to the luxury car market for some time and thought BMW was the way to go, because Benz was either too snobby or just plain for old people, boy I was wrong!

I would consider myself a research hound and probably spent the better part of 8 solid weeks (if you put all the time together) researching and test driving my ultimate luxury sedan. I looked at Porche Panamera/Audi and test drove the Maserati Ghibli, the BMW (535i-328d-M3[2011]) and Mercedes (C63-E550-E350-E250-CLS550 and sat in a CLA 250 [just before it was being delivered, what a beautifully designed car]). I will be replacing a 2013 VW CC (awesome little car).

I had a deal on the table Friday for a new 2014 CLS550 for 10K off MSRP (73K from 83K) which I thought was very fair, just could not stomach the 973.00/mo. Lease payment (which included tax-3 years maintenance-10K mi. per year-2K down), even though I believe it was a very sold deal. I was dealing directly with the store manager at this desk (it was a rainy Friday and he was board) very nice guy. He recommended I look into the new C class because he drove one at a store managers meeting last week and was blown away with the car by both style and drive – and he drives an S class everyday (of course).

So I started looking for information on the new C and found this forum WOW. I read almost all of the 69 pages of posts to date, then did a little more research. My sales person emailed me the MY 2015 C class order guide, and I placed the order and put down my deposit.

I will say that I have done builds of about 30 or so different cars from 5 different manufactures and this new C class is the only one that allowed me to build the car the way I wanted it without having to add unnecessary packages that contained things I did not want – that is impressive to me.

Here is my current build:
C400-4Matic
799-Diamond White
321-Sport Package
267-Cranberry/Black
736-Black Ash
997-Driver Assistance Pkg.
P21-Air Balance Pkg.
319-Lighting Pkg.
218-Rear View Camera
665-19" AMG Wheels

Also considering adding the following if the price point allows once pricing is released-
315 – AIRMATIC Package
320 - Multimedia Package

European Delivery Question:

I know that BMW allows you to choose which plant you get your car built in (at least for the 3 series), either Germany or S. Africa. We now know that the new C will be built in 4 different factories, one for N. America being in Alabama (I live in Florida). I wonder if MB will allow you to choose the Germany plant for build if you want European Delivery? I have heard it is a great experience, and it would be unfortunate if MB did not allow this to its customers just because of where they live.

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to share a few things I have learned because there is absolutely nowhere on the web you can learn as much about this new C Class other than this particular forum – believe me – I looked. You guys are awesome and I really appreciate everyone sharing the information, what a huge help for anyone wanting to make the right choice in this type of market, for me, it’s very clear.

If you want to spend your hard-earned money on a quality vehicle (that is actually a beautiful work of art in itself), want to be treated with respect, want exceptional customer service at every level, then there is no other - Mercedes-Benz.

Hello BenzGator,
Good choice! This car is the new standard in it's segment. I am not 100% sure it is more agile than a 3 series, but it features options that are a new benchmark in it's segment. That said, I have tried both cars, but the C class gives me more room in the driversseat.

The AIRMATIC Package is 1440 euro's where I live (the Netherlands) and it includes Comfort-Dynamic steering. Both components can be altered by the agility select switch.

I have opted for this option (it is no option really, my dealer grands me this). I think it will be a very nice tour in the plant, a nice stay in a good hotel and a lot of fun driving the car home.
Since my dealer explained to me that they give this "present" to their customers, perhaps it's a good idea to call your dealer and ask him about this option.

I hope you enjoy your new car when it arrives.

How long does it take a car to be produced? My car has had the status "in production" since 23rd april...

The C63 AMG in the video certainly sounds very good, awesome V8 burble/rumble from the exhausts (M3/M4 should be worried!!) and the car does look very composed, hardly any roll in the corners but it did somehow hump quite far to the right over one of those mid road bumps!!

Wow that's a really nice gift from your dealer!!

The new C-Class was just launched in South Africa during these past two weeks across the country and Mercedes Benz South Africa are offering ambient lighting, airbalance package, burmester surround sound and full electric and memory seats completely free if you purchase the car during this launch period! Too bad that I'm only getting mine next year as this is such a sweet deal :(

Anyway, your present trumps our present! :p

That's sweet! Could be a deal maker for me but then again I'm European :)

I know it's so tempting!! But I would never have picked any of these options if I had to spec a car now. I consider these luxuries, which make them even more tempting. Funny since that bundle of options is being called the luxury package as it's official name.

Luxuries, indeed! Most people will never opt for them but then again who wouldn't if it's free :)
