Great car. But ridiculous that it's over 9 months before the US launch and we still have to sell the previous generation. Way to go!
Interesting that it's so long away.... That must kill sales of the existing C ?

That hasn't been the case for other models. The CLS actually had some of its best months ever in the months before its replacement, at least in the U.S. Mercedes just starts giving them away :p

You have to remember the general public isn't as in to cars as we are and will just buy what's available for a good price.

This is so true, it is so easy to forget that most people actually don't give a flying fu*k for cars:(

It has always been this way from what I can remember. A lot of buyers won't know for a while now. I would suspect the CLA has already cut into the current C's sales anyways??

My preferred combination.

That interior is so upscale and classy there is nothing that can make it better. i cant wait for the US release at dealers. the blonde interior with the fancy wood graine looks best though

Hello there gorgeous! Great job on the design, MB! This to me, really blows the F30 out of the water.

Watch them integrate the screen when it's facelifted. That'll improve the interior....

^^I don't think they will integrate the screen, Wolf posted here or some other thread the obvious reasons for it. The design intentions were clear from the day one, unlike others saying it is an after thought.

I think this screen is going to be around for a while. Spy pics have shown even the facelift CLS and ML are getting it.

9 speed will come in April 2014
I think you mean April 2015. Anyway, I think either MB has a problem of 9G transmission supply or they want to make sure the new transmission is reliable enough to introduce in the U.S.
dtd

I just configured a C220 BlueTEC and it ended up being 76k Euros...WTF?! This is like Porsche stuff haha

Yes, but my hunch is the next-gen CLS and ML will drop the screen. So will the C-Class facelift.

Mines, im a sucker for that blue leather and light wood:)

Ironically that looks better than the S-Class. I'm really surprised how well the front end of the S-Class works on a smaller car. The free standing screen doesn't even bother me any longer.

I need to find out who the head of interior was. They really made the cabin one of a kind and special. It's as if it was sculptured by a yacht designer.

M-Bs' new design paradigm translates remarkable well here. Actually, far more convincingly than in the case of the W222 S-Class. The upcoming coupe/cabriolet derivatives should be nothing short of stellar.

I sincerely hope that M-B can maintain the momentum. The soon-to-be-introduced production version C217 S-Class coupe/cabriolet will undoubtedly be jaw-droppingly eye-arresting. And my hopes are very high for the W213 E-Class + derivatives.

I'm sorry, but I missed that post. Care to share? @Amat46 @Wolfgang

Im not sure who designed it..but it was designed by the Mercedes Benz Advanced design section out of Como Italy. They have never designed a production car/interior.. only concepts.
There were 2 interior directions, one conservative from sindelfingen, and then this from Italy.. Board to a risk.. i guess it payed off:)

PS
There is some kind of signature on these sketch i cant make it out though.. Maybe Hussein can enlighten us:
