Both sound incredible (BMW and Audi take note)
I kinda wish mine was in diamond white too, I walked out the gym and saw a C250 sedan in that color, like you said, it looks stunning, especially at night time under street lighting where you can really see the depth of the paint and the pearl like effect of the diamond white.^ I wish my mums car was diamond white. I saw a c coupe in diamond white and it was stunning.

Btw, I did some research on the Mercedes polar white color and their other non metallic colors, apparently they are single stage paint without a layer of clear coat.

Congrats mate! Which specs do you have for yours? Mine is actually the estate version and I am pretty happy with the car so far, no problems yet. The ride height is a bit low and the suspension is a bit firm. I have written a review here:Hey Monster, how's the car been for you. Any issues, dislikes? I just ordered a C250d for delivery in Oct and looking for as much feedback as possible..
Initially I wasn't too sure either, I always thought even solid colors have a layer of clear coat on top, but it doesn't seem to be the case anymore. The thing that confirms my suspicion is that the touch up paint for the solid color comes in one color bottle, where else for the metallic colors, they come with 2 bottles, the base color, and the clear coat.Single stage painting in the 21st century? Wow!
- See more at: https://www.carwow.co.uk/guides/glossary/car-paint-types-guide#sthash.HR6Rt5XN.dpufIn basic form, the solid paint is a single application of the colour, followed by a lacquer coat (called a clear coat) above it to protect the paint from chips, scratches and the weather.
Many manufacturers now use what’s called “two-pack” paint, in which the acrylic paint is mixed with an isocyanate hardening agent to make a kind of coloured superglue, and removes the need for a separate clear coat.
