C-Class [Official] Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet (C205)

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a series of compact executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 190 (W201) range, the C-Class was the smallest model in the marque's line-up until the W168 A-Class arrived in 1997.
Mercedes C-Class facelift gets S-Class cockpit – FIRST PICS

Mercedes C-Class will undergo a major facelift this year. Auto motor und sport reveals the first pictures of the new cockpit and also of the upcoming Mercedes C-Class T-Model facelift.

C-Class with S-Class cockpit. This is how the update can be quickly summarized. The spy pictures show the C-Class with the dual-TFT screen layout known from the S-Class. After this display arrangement has been passed on to the new E-Class, it is clear that the new C-Class will also offer the digital cockpit as an option in its facelift version. This is also a logical addition to the gadgets’ list, as Audi and BMW rivals have also announced digital instruments for their A4 and 3-Series.

The latest spy pictures also reveal the new three-spoke steering wheel with new integrated touch controls, reminiscent of those found on the new E-Class. In addition, a further feature from the (updated) S-Class: the touchpad on the center console replacing the current rotary knob and the latest version of the Comand infotainment system which can also be operated by gesture control.

Outside, spy pics show the new Mercedes C-Class only gets new bumpers and a a few minor optical changes around the grill and the headlamp units. In terms of engines, the Mercedes C-Class model year 2018 will offer largely the same units, re-tuned for better performance and less emissions.

The Mercedes C-Class facelift will be presented this autumn, presumably at the IAA Frankfurt motor show.

I really hope there is a more elegant solution than to graft the dual screen display onto the existing dashboard design.

The C 63 Cabrio Ocean Blue Edition premieres in Geneva. :)

PS. Believe the location for the photo shoot is the garage under the Milwaukee Art Museum. A Santiago Calatrava design.

They better. Otherwise it's just poor product planning for not considering the next generation of Command when the interior was designed.

Looks like it will get the E-'s steering wheel touch pads as well as numerous other steering wheel buttons, like the new A-class.

They couldn't even figure out if they wanted to make a C400, C450 or C43 so I doubt they planned the interior facelift in advance. With the C Class they completely lacked direction.

I hope you're kidding. Mercedes begins work on the facelift less than a year after the car launches every single time.

The nomenclature is nothing but marketing.

Maybe I'm being hyperbolic but the C Class literally had 2 models that were discontinued within a year I don't remember seeing that before. They introduced the AMG Sport line only to kill it immediately.

As you say, MB plans these things years ahead of time so I can't understand the rationale behind 400/450/43. I'm sure during their meetings the product line-up slideshow did not have them shuttering each model after 6 months. To me that's lack of direction.

MB Australia was wise to wait until Germany had sorted out their product plans. In the space of 4 months MB Australia has now launched 4 'AMG 43' models.

Yeah for one model, which is basically the same car all along with tweaks. Much ado about nothing IMO. It's nothing more than a badge shuffle since the car isn't a true AMG anyways. It isn't the entire "C-Class". They didn't know how to position the upper level/V6 model, not the entire C-Class. The C300 has been the same car since day one.
