A-Class (W176) [Official] Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176)

The W176 model was introduced at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show officially as a subcompact executive / C-segment model for the first time after being a supermini / B-segment for fifteen years.
Firstly Mr M's a45 is still in one piece, just with a new owner. He is getting an s3 I believe, I don't think he is going to be happy with that ;)
Each dealer has been allocated a45s throughout the year, if you are keen you painfully have to call every dealer to find what's the earliest allocation they haven't sold. Pretty poor experience but those that did this rather then, like me, walk into your local dealer get a car within weeks rather then months or a year.

Saw my record number of a classes on the way to work today including a mountain grey 250 sport and a white a45. Fair few a200's around Brisbane now.
Oh, that was short lived. Are they that bad? Re S3, why not just get a new Golf R? Same engine specs etc. and save a few $$$

lol...with VW's aspirations of premium pricing and the S3 dropping significantly since the last generation, there isn't going to be much difference in price between the R and the S3. There's barely any breathing room between a well equipped GTI and a base S3, which is pretty well equipped anyway.

In terms of looks, the last 2 R's have been lustworthy. But this new one just doesn't do anything for me. It leaves me cold. I'm happy to pay a small premium for a car I think looks much better and has a nicer interior IMO.

I think I will be very happy in the S3 :p...fingers crossed. This is exactly what she will look like.

So am I, but was told last week that, at best, end of the this year, but more likely March next year before I can get my hands on one.
I've decided to hold off but have sent you a Message in case you are still after a new 45. Be quick though :-)

Probably a good decision I don't think something so highly stressed as a long term 10-15 year ownership would be without massive bills.

Went for a nice 5.5 hour drive the other day on some nice country roads which at points were quite twisty. This is the first real enjoyable drive that I've done with my A250. I must say I was very impressed with the way it hung on the roads. I was able to really fang around some quite sharp corners and it was hanging on beautifully. I had my camera sitting in the back on a passenger seat and to my surprise it didn't hardly move. Overtaking is quite nice when needed and it was definitely needed on a few short stretches where I was stuck behind slow moving traffic. The last 50kms or so I relaxed my driving style a little and was given an overall 8.0l/100kms. Although my driving score was very low 24%. But I must say I was really, really impressed.

Good to read your thoughts there joyjas...

I use my car a bit for trips away on weekends etc. so a car that provides an engaging drive is a priority - as are little things like good headlights and overtaking ability.

How long have you had yours now? (km's & time)

got my car back today. bought it back 3 times to fix the rattle. changed to a new dealer and had a drive with the technician.. now it's all fixed!!! they found rattle coming from Beveridge holder in the centre console, found Beveridge holder pivot loss and retighten pivot pin..
was thinking to porches service plans, 3 years silver plan is 2499, 3 years platinum is 3899, dealer told me it has additional operations carried out at the predetermined intervals. anyone had any experience with it?

I've had my car for close on 6 months now, with about 11,000km's on the clock. Glad you found my thoughts nice to read. I was absolutely really impressed with the handling as in general I do baby my car and drive for economy with the odd squirt to get to 100km/hr quickly.
Would be a lot more k's on her but I kept my old car and use that for anything that might get my A scratched or damaged. Like kids paper rounds, etc.

Yes awesome shots soulsolutions. I need to really get out and do this at some stage with mine too.

Interestingly enough, Drive plus Kit is now not available in europe according to this link.

Making way for the newly announced 'carplay' perhaps?

And maybe, just maybe we'll get it here in Aus in a few years time. Question is, can we retrofit and how much will it cost!?
Personally, If I can get siri and maps onto the command screen, I'm willing to pay a decent amount. I'm guessing a 1,500 retrofit cost, just coz it sounds so stupidly overpriced.

What a massive disappointment Top Gear was last night :(

A45 V M135i V GTI

Don't even get me started on how stupid that comparision is when it should have been A250 V 125i v GTI....

Anyway they gave it three seconds of look in, complained about the price and then had a massive love fest over a golf with all options ticked.

First time I have ever been annoyed with Top Gear lol
