Don't know but I would hope it is. That would be a good thing during winter to have your car keep warm while you shop. There is also some sort of a preheat function to heat up your car at a set time. But don't know if either of these are available in Australia

Sorry, not sure if the residual heat Function is available to us.

I do not we don't get the pre-heat capability. Essentially that involved addition of a secondary electric heater in the system and it's not applicable to our market.

I'll see what I can find re Residual Heat, however might have to wait till my car arrives. Possibly one of the existing owners here can answer that based on their vehicles?

Just spoke to Viezu tuning head office. They don't have anything for the A250 at the moment but will contact me as soon as they do. I know lots of VW Audi guys use them as they offer similar insurance to some of the others. They are also very big world-wide and to my knowledge and experience provide a product as good or better than the others. Not that I'm endorsing them, just FYI only and another option to condider.

We should be looking for a 'group buy'. So, hands up fellas, who's in?

I'd be interested. I'd compare them to the RaceChip product and see if they offer similar figures around the same price. I'm just basically wanting something that's plug n play and removable for warranty issues.

Going back to the topic that Frostee started a while ago on car care, i also had a chat to Car Care Products and they were great. Im planning to do the following when i get my car (which is quite similar to what Frostee's plan is). Gotta give special credit to Frostee for his posts as i would have gone with the cheap Kmart stuff (ie armourall) if he never posted his info up.

Initial Clean
When i get the car, i am going to send it to CCP for a detailed clean and wax. This includes
Clean, Clay Bar and Wax with Nanolex - $400 AUD
Additional paintwork correction - $60/hr with a min of 3hrs for ceramic clear coats (which the A250 and most european cars have)
Additional options for Nanolex Glass sealant (which is freaking awesome

With regards to the ultra and premium nanolex products, the ultra is more expensive (ofcourse but not by much ~ usually $10 - $30 more) but apparently ultra lasts much longer and is much easier to apply (so keep this in mind) though you have to be very stingy with nanolex products when it comes to application. I.E 50ml of nanlex ultra sealant can be good for up to 3 applications!

I am glad that the information that I provided has been useful. As mentioned earlier I can't recommend Car Care Products highly enough. As you say, the products and regime that you're citing there is pretty much what I do. I live in Melbourne so don't have the benefit of having car care Products handy for them to do the work. Having said that the cleaning and application process is really simple. To be honest, I was really intimidated by clay bar when I first approached it - probably because it is so different to anything I have done. It's realy easy to use though as too is the application of the Nanolex paint and glass sealants.

Nanolex is by no means the only option, it's just the one I have landed on because I am happy with its results and durability. Importantly it doesn't require much effort at all to maintain a great finish. I've been down the path of waxes etc and just don't have the time for them despite them giving awesome results.

Ohh yeah! I just come from my dealer and apparently have missed the latest delays, which he told me about before I asked. Panoramic sunroof shortages ATM. Build date is 2/7/2013 so keeping fingers crossed all will go as planned.

Dealer told me he was down at sandown racetrack there watching A45 he said it is vocally nice to listen to and very quick. I will certainly be around for a test drive when they get it in.

I know I'm not the only one waiting for a review from any of the tuning houses. It's not so much the $$$, more the reliability, back-upservice and actual performance gains (not internet claims) that I'm interested in. Barabus should be able to achieve that, but there are others out there doing some real quality work too.

Yes, got to admit that almost clinches the deal doesn't it. I can't find anyone else that has that detailed a guarantee for the car. While companies like APR (not that they do MB that I know of) give a guarantee similar to this, it's only 12 months (the last time I used them that is). So three years is very generous and sort of hints very strongly that you won't have any problems running their gear.

I think I'm also more inclined to believe the gains they quote are accurate.

Just out of interest, I wonder if that 180kW includes the over boost? or when the car hits the magic 4000rpm under full throttle, it still comes in producing 190kW?

That's what I figure. I was pretty impressed with what I experienced when driving the A250. Power was adequate and I was particularly impressed with how well balanced it was. Being front wheel drive I was expecting some evidence of torque steer but it really wasn't apparent. Do you think that increasing the performance through chipping/re-mapping will possibly impact this balance? It's all down to personal choice.
