A-Class (W176) [Official] Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176)

The W176 model was introduced at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show officially as a subcompact executive / C-segment model for the first time after being a supermini / B-segment for fifteen years.
Few pics taken by an MB employee in Valencia where he went last week to discover the new models..

Just bought the a250 over the weekend. Have test driven it twice though as much as i enjoyed driving it, i was still thinking about a deal for a m135 at 85k. My wife was just pushing me to get it cos she enjoyed it very much. Her rationale: I just saved you 25k...this is for delivery in mid may.

A little about the drive: I didn't like the manual shifts, it seemed to lag a little. I did enjoy how the car enters a corner at about 50-60ks and still feels stable. Humps and potholes felt a little firm/stiff? And as most people who have test driven it, it certainly feels a lot quicker than 6.6s from 0-100. I enjoyed the drive and didn't have many further complains about it.

Also, there were no Ming moles! Surprise surprise. Quick question though, are the front windows already tinted? Or do I need more tinting? I read somewhere that the car already comes tinted all round? Where can I get good paint protection? I know my wife is too lazy to wash it...I won't drive it much as I travel a lot for my work.

I'm not liking that A45, looks ridiculous with the corny speed stripes over the bonnet and along the sills - was that a dealer addition?

As much as I like the A45 AMG(y) I dislike the paint scheme here ^ that stripe reminds too much of BMW Group:whistle:

Edit: I agree with W201, CLA looks good and so mature.

Congratulations on the new car. When do you expect delivery? What colour did you select? Did you get any options?

I'm pretty sure all the windows are tinted and the rear windows and back have darker tint because of the 'night package'. The front windows can be tinted darker to match. I'm assuming you're in Australia, so I believe Tint A Car offers good deals for tint, paint and interior protection.

Expecting sometime 3rd week of May. I got it in white with comand and Amg exclusive. Thanks for the info, I'll check out tint a car! :) wonder if I should run the car in before handing it over to my wife haha

They have completely screwed the marketing for the A45 AMG - Usher?????
That is not the demographic for this car .

^usher is the demographic for every car didn't you know?

How so?

Anyhow, the A45 won't need any marketing BS to make a splash. The cars performance and price point will speak for itself.

A little off topic, but does anyone know where I can buy a graphite Merc emblem for the a class? I know it's very common for the golfs but it's so difficult to find any for mercs. I've only ever seen one on a c63 before.

Not too long to wait then! Sounds great. I'm a huge fan of the A250 in white!

Yes it is imperative that you break the car in correctly before handing it over to the missus. :ROFLMAO:

I know right?white really grew on me the more I see it. There was one in the Merc garage on the day I bought mine, I spent a good 15-20 mins looking at it til the dealer had to drag me away to complete the sale. The missus wanted red. Which would mean essentially looking like the 180 and 200. I told her she can pay for it herself lol. Getting it in white has already gotten me thinking how to modify it. I'm getting the special plates as well to start with, though I hate the annual fee on it but the lumi red words on black plate looks so good. Now for graphite emblems and a new set of rims. :)

Exactly why insist on a celebrity to sell the concept , why does it need one? For a car like this should they not use a DTM driver ? , F1Driver? Be grateful they did not bring "Zoolander" .

Usher is perfectly fine. He's still relevant to both generation X and Y, and considered 'cool' by both. The F1 Driver thing has been done to death and a DTM driver would hardly be recognisable enough on a global level.

The A and CLA are going to have a massive impact on Mercedes buyer demographic. Just witness this thread itself. There's younger guys in here talking about engine management chips and other aftermarket modifications. When was the last time you witnessed that in an MB thread?

Zoolander would have been more appropriate for the BMW 1-series. Or if we're sticking to singers, perhaps Kesha. There's just something 'off' about both, that suits the 1 to a tee. :D

And has absolutely nothing to do with Mercedes-Benz or cars whatsoever. He just looks utterly conspicuous and stands out like a sore thumb. Seriously, w h y?
