I know what you mean, I actually come from Brisbane..... Just promise me you won't buy a dash mat for your car, they're damn ugly.
Nooooo way I'm paying top dollar for a great looking Dash to throw a skanky piece of carpet on top of it lol.

I'm in architecture, but my company wasn't on the list. The dealer said as long as 50+ employees, 6 or more cars @ work that are over the Luxury car tax threshold (when bought new) you could apply for corporate.
Bummer I think I would have been eligible then, guess I can't go back and renegotiate can I to at least get free services :-(

mmm, wouldn't hurt to ask - because as part of the corp disc, you're supposed to get a slightly lower dealer delivery (to which they say they can't do coz the A is too new) but as far as being part of the program after the purchase shouldn't really affect the ability to get free servicing.

Once you're signed up any full time employee from your company has access to the corp.

Another question - I've been told that the privacy glass on the rear is just darkened glass, it doesn't actually have any UV protection. It's been recommended that I go for clear UV blocking tint on the back glass and full proper tints on the front.

Does anyone know if that's right or am I being taken for a (relatively inexpensive) ride?

I was supposed to get a white A250 (Command, AMG Exclusive and Driver Assistance) August ETA. I've since delayed this to October and have the option to change my order to a CLA when pricing is released. The wait for CLA pricing has been agonizing!

mr merc, be carefull, I noticed this comment on another forum ! I'd hate it for you to be waiting it out till feb next year !

Just got a call from my dealer.
CLA200 and CLA45 will arrive Australia around Oct/Nov. CLA250 will be delayed to Feb next year.
I can confirm this. Was just about the post this in the CLA-Class thread.

I wouldnt be too concerned and wouldnt uv line the rears. the car I found on hot sunny days has been cooler to get into than my previous golf gti which had no tinting and smaller sunroof etc.

just getting the fronts tinted is all it needs I think :)

Hey Ale. Thank you, I have been told the same thing. It's reached a point now that if I wait until October, what's 4 more months until February? lol I'll get to see the CLA in the flesh in October and then decide between the two.

That said, the wait has even made me second guess if I really want to spend so much on a car, or put the money to better use...

Just dont get caught in waiting for the next best thing ! There'll always be something better around the next corner hehe. But yeah if unsure time is excellent as a decider :)

Anyone know pricing and specs for A45 yet? Since being told me car will take longer, I'm uming and ahhing, should I just jump right up to A45 and be totally done with it. I've never been in a 4.x second car so I have absolutely no idea what that would feel like to drive. I'm not a total speed demon but just love the feeling of being pulled back into the seat getting to the speed limit. Once there I generally just let cruise control do the rest.

Seems I have to speak to dealer about corporate deal it might also make it easier if more money is on the table.

But then again, I have a fully specced A250 coming for $61k is another $20k really worth it? Do these cars hold their value any better than say the other cars in the A Class? Any ideas or advice most welcome. I don't know really if it is worth the upgrade, but I do know that I wouldn't have to prove any point at the traffic lights with the average car ( Not that a mature person in their 40's would feel the need to do that ;-) )

A45 is priced at $81,500. Expect to lose 40-45% of the cars value over 3 years on any of the variants. There is usually only a variation of a few percentage points over the range.

Hey Joyjas is that 61K on the road? i'm getting corporate pricing (which is no different by the way) and my delivery fee is $1600 + GST.

So I got a pretty good deal :), yep that is $61k on the road it is a little more but can't quite remember now but maybe 400-$500. I think the dealer felt sorry for me as I'd been so set on the date they had given and was paying it off at a reasonable rate. When I came in and asked what he could do for an A250 he calculated the price then dropped his margin and it brought it under the $59,133 amount that increases stamp duty to 5%. So that cut approx $3k tax + their margin.

I was quite happy to go local dealers I called around in Melbourne before buying and asked for best pricing but no-one gave me as good. I didn't pit the dealers against each other just wanted to get a fair price. Apparently BMW here tell me that a lot of Melbourne Clients come out to service their cars and that their local pricing is cheaper than prepaid fix price services. Which matches what Mercedes told me in regards to servicing when I asked about the fixed price service deal.

Considering another $20k probably being too extravagant. I would never put it on the track and wouldn't thrash it either. It would just be so nice to have that incredible thrill of all that accelerative power on tap. But I guess it would be proportionately expensive to repair things down the track as well.

Where can I find out what I get for that $81,500. I couldn't seem to find anything on their web-site.

You only live once! considering you get so many add-ons with the A45 as standard its a bloody good deal. The only thing is you might find the 19"'s a tad harsh. But I guess you just have to ask yourself why you want the A45 over the A250?
