I've had problems with the pre safe and distronic system in extremely cold, or hot weather. Never had it not respond to acceleration.

I experienced something strange about two days ago, while driving to work on cruise control, car displayed message, pre safe system in operative, everything stopped working, my car just decided not to respond to any acceleration, had to pull off to the side, switch car off, started again and everything was fine... Has anyone else had this experience or similar?

Haven't seem it personally, but it should be recorded as a error in your EMS. I recommend give your dealer a call, explain it and ask them to do a diagnostic.

I am so lucks, I haven't had a single problem with mine, 1.5 years into ownership (touch wood).

I can't believe I am starting to think about my next car, as this one gets turned over at 3 years.

All concerned please forgive me, I am actually considering the 2015 5.0 V8 Mustang. The only reservation is build quality, and that will only be known when there are demos available.

I might be forgiving though

This also happened to me about eight months ago. Very disconcerting and I thought I was in a Golf! Nothing since. It may have been an operator error, though. Perhaps I put it into neutral instead of putting on the indicator: I can't recall.

Well I have had my A200 for 12 months now and I still love it. Yes, it has had its issues... it has had many rattles and clunks - mostly all gone now after numerous visits back to the dealer. The latest rattle appears to be the parcel shelf over the hatch rattling on some rough roads. Not sure yet if the MB fix (little bits of felt on the "touch points") has worked but I do know that a thick wodge of foam does the trick. I still think I can hear a vibration on some of the worst coarse chip roads (the road from Grovedale to Torquay comes to mind) but the road noise is so bad its hard to tell. The passenger side air vent went berserk last week and it sounded like it had a pebble rattling around in it but was self-correcting and MB dismantled it and reinserted it but found nothing untoward. The stereo stopped working about two months back: no volume control. Turning the car off then on reset it. MB said that it is a known problem and fixed it. Its part of the COMAND unit. MB also want $700 to update the sat nav map! The fact that COMAND sat nav won't display the speed limit on the map (when the Becker Map Pilot version will) is also an annoyance. But this is all forgotten when I walk towards it, then get in and get my little welcoming hug before driving off. The fun of driving, the pinpoint accuracy, the surefooted handling and chuck-ability. But most of all the the special feeling you get from being a part of the Mercedes family.

And a comment on IOS8: plug your phone (mine's just a 5) into the cable in the centre storage and simple say "Hey, siri." Your iPhone commands are channelled through the COMAND system so it is obviously syncing in with the car's inbuilt microphone. So its "Hey siri" to control your iPhone and press the button on the steering wheel to control the COMAND system.

My q is what is the difference between MY13 and MY14??

if i wait til February to take order will it likely be MY15 and any news on that??

Hi Landis,

There is very little difference between MY13 and MY14 - basically the same car/spec.
The only differences that I am aware are:
- AMG exclusive package in MY14 has been break down into 2 packages, SC1 - seat comfort package and AX1 Exclusive package but no electric heated seats and reverse mirror dip.
- $500 price increase

Orders after Nov-13 are MY14 models.. so if you are buying brand new you can't get MY13 any more.

5 months and 5000kms.. all good no rattles yet (fingers crossed).

Tyre pressure alert went off and noticed flat tyre... discovered three different sized metal objects on a tyre and I am glad they are all fixable and I didn't need to fork out $280 for a new tyre

Thanks bwclu! I had a chat with salesman today and he told me, if i could, to wait a bit longer to order a MY15 build which at present he told me there is a price rise and the addition of keyless start.

A 250 now comes with KEYLESS-GO

I understand there is also a price increase, but haven't confirmed this

Looking at it now, there is also option of a 19-inch alloy wheel!

Buy a new one when you're done with the one you have and enjoy all the other goodies that will come then.

Based on every other retro fit question I have ever seen a response to - no it won't be financially viable.

Buy a new one when you're done with the one you have and enjoy all the other goodies that will come then.

Totally agree with the finance involved in general retro fitting.
not that i'm poo poo-ing the idea of keyless go, but after playing with my dad's C, i'm not a huge fan. Perhaps I'm old fashion but I love how my car has a key holder built in.. i'm always loosing stuff!

Just had my first service which was covered by the corporate program.

I got new wiper blades however which were $99

They found an issue with clutch/gearbox which they rectified. The car seems smoother coming to a stop.

Was given a new E200 Cabriolet as the loaner. Pretty nice whilst not a car I would buy.

I believe that's a software bug that's been around for a while, I don't think there's a fix for it yet

I have my speed displayed on that screen in kph all the time. Go to the setting for your instrument cluster and you can adjust it in there.

Using the arrow pad on the left of the steering wheel > settings > instrument cluster > 1st thing that pops up should be the kph v mph thingy.

Actually, hang on, I have a MY14 with COMMAND, maybe its not the same for earlier or non-COMMAND versions?
