A-Class (W176) [Official] Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176)

The W176 model was introduced at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show officially as a subcompact executive / C-segment model for the first time after being a supermini / B-segment for fifteen years.
Ergg hate the 5 minute edit limit

Just a note, for school zones/miscellaneous, it includes things such as narrow bridges, dangerous curves and dangerous intersections, tool booths etc. But they do not occur every block and are more present in out of CBD areas (except dangerous intersections of course). Also if you do not like the icon that shows up in your GPS feel free to change it yourself in the COMAND menu, you are not locked in by the POI file.

Thanks for the new file again. Just wanted to check, this new one is a *.xml format? We should just rename the file to *.gpx correct?

Yeh you can adjust the warning but it is done when I convert the files. There is a POI time setting in there and for speed cameras it is currently set at 30, which means it will warn you 30 seconds before you reach the point.

Far out man, that's so cool
What program do you use to make these changes?

Just use the MB POI loader posted a few pages back.

The file should be in .gpx already, google docs will say its .xml but after you download should still be .gpx

I just compared the cameras on SCDB.info with the trapster one, trapster has 1150 cameras (speed + red + combo) but keep in mind this includes a little part of indonesia.

SCDB.info has 1021 cameras.

So I can confidently say trapster data is reasonably reliable. Either way trapster has over 20 million users vs 5 million of scdb, only difference is supposedly scdb verifies on site (dont know about Australia though)

One word....AWESOME!

Are you in Sydney? We should catch up and you could show me a thing or two. I'll keep your beer coming and if you don't drink, I'll keep the soft drinks coming...

I was on a German website who were discussing the stats of SCDB.info, an Aussie said that it is very much reliable (he was from Melb). Even the newly installed cameras were in their database. But I agree with you on trapster (20mio vs 5mio).

As a long time reader of this thread and an ecstatic new owner of an A250, I want to thank you all for your ongoing contributions to this discussion with special note to Frostee (CBM?) and recently Azukay for giving your time for the creation of this POI file.

As for my contribution, one of the best features that I was not aware of before I got the car and I don't believe has been discussed in this thread is the rest function with comes with the AMG exclusive pack. This will utilise the car's second battery to maintain the inside temperature of the car at the level set by the climate control using either the A/C or heater for as long as the battery has a certain level of charge.

As the weather has been unseasonably perfect, I haven't actually used it as yet. Has anyone else used this feature?

Keep up the great thread all.

I actually found a camera that is not on SCDB http://www.scdb.info/en/karte/41532 Just move around the map and you will see where SCDB have and don't have cameras. There is a camera in Rydalmere on Victoria Road which is at the school zone which doesnt seem to be there. The variable camera has been there for ages so I guess if no one reports then they dont put one up. Also there is a red light camera there thats missing but present on trapster.

And yes I am in Sydney in the Ryde area, pretty much the centre of sydney :D 20-25 minutes to anywhere lol.

BTW to see the trapster map you need to register which is free :D http://trapster.com/speed-traps/

Wow...me too!!! I'm in the Ryde area as well!

Well I goto Eastwood a lot so if you see a mountain grey a250 it's probably me. With a potato number plate

Hi guys, I've been quietly following this thread since joining a few weeks back. I just called my MB dealer and there has apparently been no bulletin outlining the new specs of the MY14 A Class, I've seen a few posts on here outlining the upgrades/differences - has anybody heard these officially from their dealer?

Car due to be built 3rd October so fairly keen to get more details if there are new options available!

OMG! So you were the one who took my PO74TO plate?!?!?! :sneaky:

I actually ordered that plate in March then cancelled because the wife wanted a different style because we changed the order to a MY14 car. By the time she decided on what type of plates she wanted, it was already taken! haha talk about coincidences! WOMEN!

We go to Eastwood sometimes as well, but usually Top Ryde.

We settled for 00ORLY in the end (I would have gone for PO7470 or something). Ultimately, the car is a gift to her. If you see a white A250, it's ours.

Hi there! Welcome to the forum. Where are you located? Getting it built on 3rd Oct will mean a MY14 car anyway.

Usually the bulletin is sent to all the dealers. But most of the time, they ignore it. Some don't know about it until they check in detail. Other than that, the dealer's manager will know about it. Their system will allow them to choose the options where available as well. e.g. seat belts, there will be the option to select the red or black ones. same with the suspension.

Well I honestly should stop tracking my car's ship. It must get annoyed with all the tracing I'm doing and slow down its schedule to annoy the living daylights out of me. Eta for Melbourne had dropped back a day, arrives in Fremantle tomorrow although not sure the time but leaves the following day instead of original itinerary being the same day. Oh we'll ;( not much I can do other than wait and hope it doesn't delay any more. This will be at least 4 days extra from original shipping itinerary.
LMAO ...mine stayed 3 extra days in Freo !! so I hope that does'nt happen to yours...
On a more positive note....Mine docked at Melbourne this Morning :joyful:...
I know what you mean about Tracking ...I think my wife thinks i'm possesed by MB demons

Haha that's not the worst I've heard! I've heard ships sailing off frementle towards Melbourne, only to go back again after 2 days, then staying there for another 2. I believe frostee would have heard of that story before on people waiting for their golfs.

Thought I would finally post, I have been hassling Frostee and Azukay for information for months and reading this thread since I saw Frostee's pics.

I still have a reasonably long wait till the 18th of November but getting excited. The new grille is hot!
Welcome Mate, take a seat ...positive it will be worth the wait :joyful:

Mine did something similar...must be the western Aussie Bermuda Triangle :arghh:
