A-Class [Official] Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176)

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is a car manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. It has been marketed across generations as a front-engine, front-wheel drive, five-passenger, five-door hatchback, with a three-door hatchback offered for the second generation, as well as a saloon version for the fourth.
audi a4 quattro (B9), love the interior, was going to get a c class, but audi just so much better at the tech especially virtual cockpit ...

Congratulations. Agreed. Mercedes needs to improve the command system and heads up display on the c-class asap. It's clunky and dated.

Had my fully loaded A250 for almost 3 years. Loved every second with it. Now it's time to say goodbye, pick up my new car next week.
Is it hard to sale A250 privately?
How'd your selling privately experience go? Thinking of doing the same early in the New Year

If anyone knows anyone in Melbourne who's in the market for a 11/2013 A250 with 50,286kms on the clock send them my way as VIM059 is now for sale. The only option it doesn't have is the Distronic pack.

It shouldn't be since it is still a relatively popular car, however the difficult part is to find legitimate buyers, not time wasters, joy riders or thieves.
Sorry guys I was quite active on this thread in the early days (joyjas77). Then life just got too busy. Now since trying to log back in I can't seem to post because of an old email address I no longer have access to so I've created a new account. I'm personally not happy with the price offered for a Trade-in of my A250, although it is over 3 years old now. Especially seeing the prices that people are advertising on carsales.com.au. So I think I will also have to try my hand at selling it privately. I guess that could be a win win for buyer and seller alike.

Anyway nearing the end of a nasty divorce and looking forward to a property settlement has made me rethink my car position. I absolutely love to drive my A250, never not enjoyed it in my whole 3.5 years of ownership. So I want another car that is going to bring that joy to my heart, but I think I need something that sounds a bit more the beast. I've looked at Suburu WRX STi, was happy with the look and inside feel of the car itself (the Premium one), and the nice acceleration. But doubt I really want to go back to a manual transmission. I used to love manual when in my 20's (in fact converted my RX2 from Auto to manual, spent a whole night under the car and fell asleep in lectures at uni the next day) but auto is so convenient so I think I've ruled that out.

Test drove a Lexus IS200t F-sport, while I loved it inside and out, I don't know if it is the one for me. Same day I went to Audi, they sent me off on my own to try the S3 hatchback. I loved the power upgrade over the A250, but the sound of the gear changes really does something for me I would like this in my next car the 250 is just a little too quite. I have also been given the keys to an A45 quite a few years ago now and told to take it for a good long drive. Was impressed with it then, but I think I should look at a current generation A45, and probably GLA45 now. I will also have a look at what BMW have to offer.

Even though I drive my car like a baby, and really try to make my drives economical. Currently averaging approximately 7.4l/100km over about 15,000km's. Annoyed that this was reset during a service. But I really like the sound of the S3, A45 gear changes.

Some things I like with S3 infotainment system ability to have multiple bluetooth devices connected and working. My phone for incoming calls while my sons ipad so he can play his music. I'm not sure if the newer Merc models have this but I would hope so. I want keyless entry. Hate using my key.

Any ideas? Anyone who is changing what are you changing too and why? I'm time poor these days as I'm back at university studying, working a bit to afford study, and weekly arrangements for my son and soon enough fortnightly trips to Melbourne 4hr+ return to catch up with my daughter who is studying in university there. So any help or ideas would be great. Mind you living in Gippsland, there is only a local MB and BMW dealership near me. All the rest I must travel to Melbourne for.

Good luck with selling it privately - not a quick thing. All I got were approaches from car wholesalers ... no private buyers and unfortunately not close enough to my $40k asking price. SO, in the end I traded - to cut the loss so to speak. I'm moving on to a Prado now with life now focussed on towing a van on the big lap.

Auf wiedersehen!

I have a loan facelift A250 while mum's car is in for service. The adaptive dampers have certainly made a huge improvement to ride quality compared to my sister in laws pre-facelift model. There also seems to be a notable improvement in road noise at freeway speeds.

I had a facelifted A 200 loan car before...ride is good but it squeaks and rattles pretty poorly for a car that has only 2000 km.

The one I've got at the moment has 7000km on the clock and feels very well built. No rattles or squeaks. And I'm sure people are thrashing the car. But given your experience, it seems like the build quality on these things is still far too variable.

That is good to know. I hated that thing so much so now they gave me SLC 200 to drive around. Review coming soon..lol. It is actually not bad.
